Here are a few of my pet peeves..I water and feed them daily:D

Bradgelina, Paris Hilton and any other celeb that is way too over exposed!

Most reality T.V...in who's reality? Not mine.

Smokers who take a dim view of us. Ex-smokers who are just Holier then Thou!

Young people who don't understand that gravity will work on them too! Unless they have so much plastic surgery that they are their own life vest and stadium seat!

Men who want to supersize food, T.V.'s Car Tires and guts..but who think women's budgets and skirts should be micro mini!

Animals and kids that are allowed to roam free at all hours.

Restaurants that dim the lights and shrink down the menu so you have to go stand under the check out sign to read! This compensates for really bad food with chipolte sauce all over it.

I am sure I will think of more..I am old, what else do I have to do!:D

O!! I collect pet peeves almost as rabidly as I collect hobbies!
small lettering in some books (I have a copy of Atlas Shrugged I can't read) and the too big lettering in the large print books
ignorent people, closed minded people, and people who instantly judge others without stopping to think first
just about all the other folk driving on MY road. (heehee)
middle of the asile half full shopping carts. (I have on occasion moved these to the craft asile when they were abandoned for longer then a span of 15-20 minutes)
and right now? SNOW!!! So pretty, but I've had enough already.

Ohh I love this thread! Be prepared, I feel a rant coming on and I can't control myself!!

1. Parents who yell at their children in public.

2. People who don't teach their children manners. (What happened to manners and being polite and civil and humble?)

3. Children screaming and crying anywhere in public (Again, why!? Address your children! Teach them what's appropriate and why and when and where! Consequences! Remove them! ... don't punish me because your kids are throwing a tantrum in a restaurant, or store or movie theater... )

4. Gum snapping. (you may think it's cute, but it's really annoying, especially in a movie theater.)

5. Men who leave the toilet seat up. (They might be cured of this if they wandered into the bathroom half-asleep at 3:00am and their dainty little arses fell into the cold toilet water, on more than one occasion! Living with a man/men who do this is like playing Russian Roulette with your bum)

6. Tiger Woods. (And this is news WHY? Oh please, the only thing he is sorry for is getting caught. There are horrible things going on all over this country, yet - Tiger Woods the philandering-golfer, boinking everything with a pulse deserves a daily update and a 20 minute live press conference? *barf* 'scuse, I just threw up in my mouth a little)

7. Closed minded judgmental people. (Do you get a pay check for being so erudite and rude? I don't judge you or tell you how to live or what to believe in or what you should or shouldn't do... let the rest of us carry on peacefully)

8. Brangelina. (see Tiger Woods - lol - Again, this is news, why? We should care deeply about this, why?)

9. Unruly Dogs. (I don't jump on you and hump your leg when you come into my house. I don't think it's even remotely cute when your dog does it to me, so stop laughing and train your dogs, thanks!)

10. Men who reach 45 and suddenly feel the need to drive a sports car, go tanning and ... (See Tiger Woods above - LOL - when I see a dude like this it makes me want to yell "Hey mister! Sorry about your p3n!s!!)

Whew... wow, thanks ladies, that felt awesome!! :D

I edited some out, but I have to say these all TOUCHED me. Mostly the ones where you need to train your dogs, and kids.. basically... its not THAT hard. Why do some people let their children run all over them and tell them to shut up? I have some family like this, it is frustrating and we don't even want to visit any more. How hard is it to teach your kids not to treat people rudely? It makes me ILL. To the point where you just can't deal, so you avoid. Spoiling a kid is only going to cause GRIEF!!

The same with the dogs... I CANT stop mine from jumping on a newcomer at first, but I CAN restrain them until they get used to you and they will not do it. They are very well trained otherwise.. gosh excitement is a hard thing to cure in dogs!

We aim to please in here Remi! LOL

My children were raised while we were in the Military..we were tough on them because they refected my husband when around his bosses. Plus my mother was old fashioned enough to believe chidren were meant to be polite and behave.
My kids were always prasied when out..now I drill my grandkids in the nicieties. They carry my bags, open doors and pull out a chair for a lady. They must always say yes, ma'am and no sir when with us and please and thankyou to all. Once my grandson even ordered for me! Grilled cheese..lol! I ate it with pride and a straight face. When they were small and acted up..I told my daughter to control them or I would smack her!
You are right, children are like wild animals..they need disapline and order or they will eat you alive! A big dose of hugs and kisses helps.
Children who act up while out are probaby tired or hungry..it's never a good idea to drag them shopping after school! But the parents who scream are the ones I would love to spank, screaming is a sign you are out of control!
The same goes for animals!

Amen, MaryKay! I was raised by strict Sicilian immigrants. Lots of love, but equal amounts of structure, routine, discipline and RESPECT!

What has happened to respect?

omg - my mom said that to me *once*!! -"Take care of that child before I smack YOU .. followed by "the look". LOL All it took was The Look and my kids would instantly snap out of it... I didn't even realize that I did the same *look* as my mom did with us... too funny...

One day, one of my girls said to me, "My kids are going to know THE LOOK, yanno mom? I still don't like it if I think you might give me that look!" lol

I think that is precious and priceless! Your Grandson ordering you grilled cheese! I almost choked up reading that. What a priceless memory to have. You must be a very proud mom and grandmom!!

Yeah...I hear ya on this one! But I am guilty of reading some stuff on the internet!
Most reality T.V...in who's reality? Not mine.
Love reality T.V.! I love watching people make idiots of themselves!!

Smokers who take a dim view of us. Ex-smokers who are just Holier then Thou!

Oh yeah!!! They can be bad! And they always have to talk about how they quit 'the hard way'! Bully for them!!!!

Young people who don't understand that gravity will work on them too! Unless they have so much plastic surgery that they are their own life vest and stadium seat!

What is up with the plastic surgery thing? I'm pretty generous in the top area so when I notice a man looking I almost feel like I have to say 'yeah, their all mine'!

Men who want to supersize food, T.V.'s Car Tires and guts..but who think women's budgets and skirts should be micro mini!

Men will be men!!!

Animals and kids that are allowed to roam free at all hours.

This so pi$$e$ me off!! Nobody watches their kids anymore and I get really PO'd when they don't keep track of their pets. And also the ones that leave their dogs and cats outside in '0' degree weather. People can be such jerks!!!

Restaurants that dim the lights and shrink down the menu so you have to go stand under the check out sign to read! This compensates for really bad food with chipolte sauce all over it.

I think that is one reason I've never been into the bar scene. I hate dark places!!! I want lots of light. No watching T.V. in the dark either. Gloomy places are not my thing!

I am sure I will think of more..I am old, what else do I have to do!:D

The last one is a major pet peeve of mine too!!! I have more pet peeves but I can't think of them cause I'm old too!!!

Gotta add that I agree about the driving thing!!! What ever happened to making a complete stop at a stop sign, using your turn signal, and entering the freeway at freeway speeds? I love entering a 65 mile an hour zone at 45mph! And for heavens sake...most cars have cruise control now. Use it on the highways so your speed isn't up and down and up and down and up.....you get the picture!

Yup!! I'm a great one for road rage!!! :D

One of the few things I'm liking about my temporary home here in Kentucky: The drivers are slightly better then those I delt with in Tucson. Still hate "rush hour" that's a total oxymoron. Rush hour is my major pet peeve. Only time it's halfway fun is late summer when the firemen were out doing collections for something or another. Don't mind playing "hurry up and wait" when there are hunky firemen standing about holding up boots to oogle.

I get told all the time how well behaved and polite my kids are. I think it's nessesary to raise decent humans, darnit! So quit acting shocked and raise your own darn kids right instead of hoping my kids will rub off on yours. (Gurrr!!)

I get gumptious over that in particular. I have to constantly remind my children that when other children are rude or awful to them to forgive them for their parents bad choices.

My elder daughter has severe dyslexia and has to attend some "special" classes. Teachers adore her, and after a few hiccups when we're at a new school eventually the other kids start to love her too. But who is teaching these kids to be so hateful to folks who are diffrent?!

I'm dyslexic and ADHD - :) Music saved my life! It was the only thing I ever did *well*. (music and writing - I love words - I could always get my feelings out on paper - it's a release) Nobody diagnosed girls with ADD let alone dyslexia when I was growing up. They would stick me into "extra help" and get frustrated with my "potential"... they would see how much I understood all things music and they jumped to the conclusion that I was lazy...

Even to this day when I'm performing I keep a music stand close by with the lyrics (to songs I've sung a hundred times) - I've learned to wander over toward it and reassure myself - it's easy for me to just "go blank" - and it's not from nerves, it's just my brain! I go blank when I look at a clock, or if I have to do simple math in my head using money in a store...

I wasn't officially DX'd until after I had kids of my own and had pushed myself through college because I wanted to teach, then nursing school because I wanted to teach and heal... and a few other things because I couldn't "settle" anywhere... until I focused back on music...

You can probably now see my ADD in most of my posts LOL

It is so deeply painful to see how competitive and downright mean kids can be. What happened to tolerance? Getting to know a person's *insides*?

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Why is blatant meanness being encouraged and tolerated? It's so painful to me...

Bug - hug your daughter for me!! She will be embraced for her particular "learning style" - she has a huge talent inside of her... it's going to burst out of her and amaze everyone (if it hasn't already!) Music, art, photography... there are more ADD/dyslexic people in the creative fields than anywhere!
