The FDA will not ban nicotine completely, because Big Pharma is looking into using it in the treatment of expensive diseases and it cannot require tobacco companies to eliminate it completely, but it could prohibit the sale of nicotine content above certain levels to the public. Right now the ANTZ are pushing the FDA to gradually lower nicotine levels in traditional cigarettes to "reduce people’s nicotine intake, so that they get used to the lower levels, and eventually get to the point where smoking is no longer satisfying" and the FDA has the power to do it because of the FSPTCA. If they can prohibit tobacco companies from selling to the public tobacco products above a certain nicotine content, they can certainly do the same to e-cigarette companies and labs. The EU is pushing for 4 mg or less, so that could be an indicator of where the FDA would go with their maximum allowed. Just because they can't ban nicotine doesn't mean they cannot severely restrict public access to it. This is one we may need to fight in April.

Scroll down to see the response from Lawrence Deyton who runs the FDA's Center for Tobacco Products.

That's kind of like going to the principal complaining about a kid that is bullying you, and the principal calls the bully in and invites him to teach you a lesson.

How do we tell these people then to stop looking only at the data that they choose to see. More and more Doctors are on board with supporting e cigs. Its all just a bunch of crap. I've never been so appalled. We can smoke, we can drink, we could smoke pot, but God for bid we use an ecig. Im afraid that our efforts will be wasted here. Its lovely how people need to tell us what is ok for us. I understand we need to fight, but it doesnt look good.

about 4400 sigs at time.

so if they ban everything completely i forsee chinese companies selling the electronics as something else like "hookah simulators" and 0nic juices... we could always just buy bulk nicotine and add it to our own juices. im sure that there could be a wiki with info on measurements and such...
ya that solution would cause a lot of hassle but its something...

I have submitted my own comments to the FDA and I have also signed this petition.

Glad you submitted your comments to the FDA Jman8. The petition is an alternative means of creating awareness, so thanks for your support! :pop:

I do think when the actual regulations are 'deemed' that a petition dealing with that could reach 25,000 signatures in matter of hours, not days or weeks.

I haven't signed this petition and don't think I will, but have submitted comments directly to the FDA.
