for beginners which do you suggest and why?

Hello Fivesixtwo,

You may hear people say different answers because of they way they like it. You will have to try different ways to see what you like the best.
Higher PG = more throat hit/ Higher VG= more vapor. What most people stay with is 50/50 blend it does well and works well. Now, if your a throat hit person you may like 70/30 pg/vg ratio but nic. level also plays a role in throat hit too. Higher nic. more throat hit and menthol also helps and your device like if you can adjust it to a higher voltage will also help with throat hit too. I hope this helps you some.
Happy Vaping and Happy Turkey Day.

I have vaped both pg and vg straight with nothing else included and just about every combination. Straight PG produces almost nothing. Almost no vapor and no throat hit. Vg produces no throat hit, tons of vapor and a slight sweet taste. I have concluded that throat hit comes from nicotine and the flavorings. I have also concluded that the sweetness and thickness of VG dilutes the throat hit and flavor. PG does not dilute the TH that comes from the nic and flavorings or the flavor itself. But then your only real vapor is coming from the nic and flavorings and a tiny bit from the PG.

Depending on your preference you simply vary the ratio. I start with 48mg 50/50 unflavored nic juice and dilute it with enough flavoring to drop it to 32mg. At 32mg you get plenty of TH, with 50% vg you get a ton of vapor and with close to 25% flavorings you get all the flavor you need and more.

Ps. So I guess if you are custom ordering I would go with 32mg 50/50 double flavorings.

Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. I began vaping 70/ 30 PG/ VG but am now using 85/ 15 PG/ VG because I'm now vaping a low nicotine and the PG acts as an irritant/ TH enhancer.

Start with mostly PG and see how it works for you. Most of the bigger brand best-sellers are mostly PG. In my experience, PG does not enhance nicotine delivery but it does carry flavor better than VG. As a result, the higher the PG percentage the less flavoring is usually required. Many flavors work differently with PG than they do with VG.

Some vapers claim that high percentage VG juice is heavy in their lungs. You will find all kinds of subjective reasons for why some people prefer VG or PG or some ratio between the two. All are subjective evaluations. What you like is best for you.

What I use in written in my signature.

The best vaping ratio is 80/20 PG/VG or 70/30 PG/VG

Why? You need PG (Polypropylene Glycol) to keep atomizers & cartomizers clean. Heavier juices (too much VG) and your atomizers & cartomizers tend to 'gunk up' and burn more easily. Too much PG and the nic juice tends to be too thin and you don't get all those delightful 'plumes' of vapor that is visually so satisfying.

In essence, You need some PG to keep things 'clean'.... and you need SOME VG (Vegetable Glycerin) for high vapor volume. I've found 80/20 Ratio ideal, but 70/30 is good too

Hope you found this response both adequate & helpful :smokie:
