Hi folks, just wanted to share something that happened to us last night.

I started using LIQUA e juice, which is what my local vendor had at the time being. But I decided to go ahead and try a few samplers from around the net.

Went for Mountain Baker and Crystal Canyon, I read nice reviews about CC, and MBV as well (and great price as well) all were 50% pg/vg with 12 of nic in them

OK, and I bought a 5 pack of kanger t3s with 5 replacement coils, I thought I give them a try there first, and then use them in my regular atomizers (nautilus and aerotank mega, and I had 2 iclear 30 around as well.

Fist of all, most of the t3s gave me this HORRIBLE burnt wick taste, even after letting them sit for somewhere around 15 min with the juice in them, I was going for 4.3 watts tops, and below that. even the iclear did that to me as well, and I know for sure I let the iclear sit there for about 30 mins.

And, I didn't like almost ANY juice, just about 3 out of 20 samples, all of them give me and the wife a sting in the back of the throat, and they are leaving my hands with the smell of the juice, which was some of the pros i left the analog behind me (smell)

They all felt like prefumed oils, which caught my attention that they were more viscous in comparison with the liqua e juice, thats when I noticed that liqua is 70%pg 30%vg

So, a few questions guys.

1 Why the horrible burnt wick taste, would it be because of the thickness of the e juice the wicks are not getting soaked correctly? with the iclear i got 2 nice vapes and then BOOM it was all smoke

2 Can more VG give us more throat hit?

3 Can more VG affect the way I percieve the way flavors taste to me

4 Should I let all this juices steep for 3 weeks, if so, what can i expect from that steeping?

5 It also leaves me with a lot more of a dry mouth taste

6 Would it be normal to go with a 70%pg 30% vg or even less?

Please, i need some answers, if anyone feel like elaborating, even on just one point, will be deeply appreciated.

Hey Jorge, lots of things going on here so let's break it down.

First off, every kanger coil (unit) I ever used had to be "primed" before I used them. Basically, install the coil unit and take several drags on the tank *without* pushing the fire button. What you're doing is pulling some of the ejuice into the silica wicks before you fire up the coils.

As far as not liking the taste of the juice, taste is so subjective I can't answer that. About the perfumey smell, try warming up some water (150 degrees max) and setting the juice in it for about a half hour. Take it out and shake it till your arm goes numb.

If that doesn't help, try leaving the top off at room temperature and "burping" it a few times a day to get the air out. And yes, part of it seems to be that the juice needs to steep... even MBV can make an oops. Do note though, everything I have gotten from MBV has a date of manufacture and is normally 6-8 months before I bought it.

As far as the smell of juice on your hands, if you got any on your hands the smell will be there for a while... just like cutting onions. Give them a wash and all is good.

One other thing and we'll get to the numbers, PG is the flavor carrier and throat hit and vg is the cloud maker and makes the vape slightly sweet.

#1. If the I clear has wicks that extend outside the center post, think octopus, the initial wicking is easier. If they are trimmed flush with the coil unit try adding a drop to each wick before sealing the tank and filling. Then, as always, prime the wick a for a few non-fired drags and try a vape.

#2 & 3 Go together: can vg add to throat hit? To a small extent maybe due to its effect in increasing vapor. Can it change taste, yes, pure vg tastes slightly sweet and earthy.

#4 If anything smells like perfume or alcohol you should let it steep and breathe. See statement above about leaving the bottle open and burping it several times a day. If it doesn't go away, cal the store and explain what happened to them. Also mention asking for some assistance in working with the kanger coils.

#5 & 6 The pg will give you more of a dry mouth than vg. The blend percentage is very subjective just like flavor, first things first, let's get you a set up and juice that works for you and get into playing with things later.

Best of luck!

Hi, I also had a problem with the Kanger coils. The wicks would always melt to the coils and taste horrible. Finally, I started to pull the wicks out and replace them with organic cotton, which works great. You can't take apart the dual coils though, so I use the single coils in the Aerotank. Even if you can get the coils to stop burning up on you the wicks are just horrible and you will never really get good flavor and vapor production out of them. So I suggest replacing the wicks, OR you can pick up a Nautilus Aspire mini with the new BVC coils which are great as is.

I had one kanger t3s that worked just fine with liqua juice, but I am guessing it was because liqua is a lower viscosity juice, so, I guess it was easier for it to flow through the wick

I recommend switching output to watts and tuning in from there. Coils often vary from what it says on the box. I think your mod can check resistance.

I use watts with all my tanks. Keeps life simple. Depending on the juice, anywhere from 6-7.5 works pretty well. Each person has their own sweet spot but avoiding burning is pretty important. Once you burn a coil enough it never comes back.

I agree with the poster above. Anything over 4 - 4.2 will burn a kanger coil more often than not. Depends on resistance though. Watts simplify that. In general, a 7 watt vape on a 1.8ohm coil should be about the same as a 2.0, 2.2, etc.
