Ok, so I am under the impression that the higher the vg, the thicker the juice is. If I'm wrong please let me know. I have also been reading a lot about high voltage mods after having my vision spinner for a month. I'm thinking of getting something with a little more power. Perhaps I don't need to get something with more power and I just need to start getting the right juice? I just switched my carto (or clearo, I get those mixed up still too), on my vivi nova tank to a 1.8 ohm and noticed a little more vapor coming out but I'm not sure I like the taste, it seems to be like a burnt taste, I turned it down a little bit from the 4.3v I usually run at and still don't seem to like the taste. So I guess I'm just torn between getting a higher V mod. The juices I have been getting are usually 80/20 with 18mg of juice if that helps with a suggestion.

I suppose after re-reading all this it's pretty much all over the place. I guess I'm lost on either to get a higher V mod or to get a more strategic pg/vg juice...

Any suggestions?

Different juices will taste different at different power levels. Confused yet? ;)

I would suggest going with a variable wattage device that will remain at a constant power level no matter what resistance (ohm) head/Atty you are using. It will always give the same amount of watts as it adjusts to the ohm level giving you the same power across the board. The more voltage you run through a LR (Low Resistance) head, the more burnt it will taste if its already tasting that way. Maybe going with a slightly thicker ratio, say 65/35 or 50/50, will also help a bit with taste. I have a bottle of 80/20 juice that basically has the consistency of water.

If you want to keep the mod small and compact, I would suggest you post a bit more around the forums and check out the co-ops that are going on. The Zmax mini that is being done at the moment would suit your needs just right if you are looking to get into VV/VW and would give you complete control over the taste.

Awesome! I'll check it out... So this spinner that I have really is just jumping all over the place with wats?

As far as I know, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but as you change the voltage, the wattage also changes in a linear fashion. As it is not variable wattage, the wattage it puts out is the same depending on what voltage you set it at. If it were VW, the voltage would change dynamically based on what resistance coil you are running. And its much easier to "dial in" the taste/VP/TH with a vv/vw device. More control = more personalized to what you find appetizing. :)

Don't get stuck in the 'more power!' Trap. You may hear some vapors saying 'oh I vape at 8 volts!' Meh... what matters is you ohm/volt combo or basicly how many watts your at, and still more is not better and in fact sometimes you can burn your wick causing nasty taste.
You said 80/20 but 80 pg or vg? VG is thicker and less forgiving of what type of atty your using.
At 1.8 ohms in a nova, you should prob do no more than 3.8 volts and a higher pg than vg ratio. If you did more volts than that you may have already burnt your wick which will lead to bad taste.
Your spinner is fine. If you want to be able to do a wide variety of volts and a wide variety of vg/pg ratio juice you need a good rebuildable atty with stainless steel wick. Remember, you battery doesn't vape the juice, your atty does.

How can I tell if I've burnt my wick?

You would also be able to see it in the nova looking down at it. Cleaning it may help a little bit with the taste if you did in fact burn it but will still have a subtle taste of nasty depending on severity. I suggest soaking the head in some alcohol of some sort whether it be high proof vodka or rubbing alcohol. Which ever you use, be sure to rinse thoroughly with warm water afterwards and let dry for a few minutes.

If you wanted to get into RBA (Rebuildable Atomizers) the aga is a nice starter into that particular world. Takes a little practice but, like anything, practice makes perfect

The zmax going on the co-ops is being designed as a "custom" design and will be a "true" mini in that it will only be able to use 18350 and 18490/500 style batteries making it a nice stealthy mod. But as I said previously, you will have to build up your post count before you can have access to the classifieds and then you will have to get verified. Very simple process and you can find further info regarding that in that section of the forum.

This is the best chart I have found to date:
