PG - VG Mix

I ordered some juice a few weeks back. 100% PG. (Didn't know much about the mixing in of VG and all my other juices were all PG) I got 48mg with the doubler so I mixing it and vaping around 20mg or so.

The taste is awesome.. better than anything I have had as there are no after tastes and no chemical tastes that I have found in 'cheaper' product.

Now there is little vapor production.. sometimes hardly any at all. I still get a decent throat hit, not as much as I would like but still not bad.

Now I have no problem mixing in VG to get more vapor production. I have actually placed an order on two juices with 20% and 35% VG just to try. If the 20% is good, I'm going to try to mix in the 35% with my current juice.

My question is why is there little vapor with all PG? The other juices I have are supposed to be all PG and there is plenty of vapor. Also I have read that PG gives you the good throat hit and VG gives you the vapor. If I am getting very little vapor, wouldn't adding more VG to get some vapor increase my throat hit since I would be taking in more vapor?

Again, I have no issues with mixing in VG with my juice. The taste here is so much better than other places. I'm just curious about those few things.

As to why the two different bases produce different amounts of vapor, I think that's kind of like asking why boiling milk and boiling water produce different amounts of steam -- they are different substances and react differently.

And I don't think throat hit is caused by the amount of vapor you inhale. Rather, it is probably how well each of the bases is at ferrying the different elements. VG produces more vapor and carries the flavor better. PG may carry the stuff that produces TH better. Or, possibly, VG incorporates it into the vapor better and, as a result, VG smooths the TH out so it doesn't hit as hard.

These are just guesses with no scientific basis or proof. Other people might have other hypotheses.

I was actually wondering the difference in TV's PG and others with my question. Not just PG and VG in general.

My 100% PG from TV has very little vapor. I have already placed an order from them with VG added to get more. I was wondering why their PG has little vapor and other 100% PG that I have from other places has plenty of vapor.

From my little experience and from what I have read, VG is good for vapor production, PG for taste and TH. On TV I read they always add a little VG for vapor even when you say all PG (I think, sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). :)
I don't trust the factory sites (China) to be completely open about the juices they make. I would hope if they say all VG they are being forthcoming as some people are sensitive to PG. I haven't read about anyone with an allergy to VG.

I agree with the OP’s assessment. I vape at 6 volts so vapor is not an issue; however, I have noticed that 100% PG based juice from TV does not produce as much vapor as supposedly 100% PG based juice from another vendor. I suspect one of two things: either the other vendor actually puts a small amount of VG in their so-called 100% PG juice or that TV’s 100% PG juices have a larger ratio of flavoring to PG. Due to TV’s flavorful juices, I suspect he uses more flavoring and therefore there would be less PG per volume of liquid. I am assuming that if you vaped only the flavoring the vapor production would be nil to minimal.
