I tend to not care for the all-Pg juices. It seems these are pretty much offered by the all-everything vendors whose focus is on mechanical gear (probably Chinese-made juice).

The best e-liquids come from vendors whose primary focus are the liquids they make. Think about it, if their liquids were not great, would they be in business long? These vendors make your order from scratch according to your directions (PG/VG ratio, extra flavor, add menthol, etc) and often add a birth date. Usually provided in glass bottles, too.

I've not noticed too much difference between the 50/50 Pg/Vg juices and all-Vg juices or everything in between those. What I have noticed is the improved flavor of all natural, all organic flavored juices. Never any artifical taste to these.

I'm biased because I've had adverse reactions to VG. And I don't just mean breathing problems.

But in my search for what works for me, I've found that most of the statements out there are true:

PG carries flavor better, wicks better, is thinner and has a bit more kick in the throat. VG produces plumes of vapor, is smoother, thick and can sometimes degrade your attys, coils and has wicking problems.

If I COULD vape VG, I would vape at somewhere around 80PG/20VG or 70PG/30VG. I feel that this ratio gives enough of the VG benefits such as vapor and smoothness, and still maintains great flavor with some throat hit from the PG.

Most people experience sore throats from the PG at first, but I've gotten over it as do most. VG doesn't seem to cause that problem. Aside from the bad problems that VG has caused for me, I do agree that it can cause a heavy chest in large doses.. which is shame because I loved Boba's Bounty .. but since they don't do 100%PG... I'll have to hope that I can one day vape VG again.

Edit: If you're finding that PG is harsh on your lungs, I assure you there are plenty of vendors out there that do high VG%s and you won't notice any loss of flavor.
