So I've tried the whole VG thing now, and I need to know if anyone else agrees or if it's just me...
I'd read that the VGs were actually sweeter and more flavorful than PGs, but I'm not finding that at ALL! I've tried both the coffee flavor and Smilin menthol from V4L and honestly I'm not tasting any sweetness whatsoever. Is it just me?
I'm disappointed.
Try a little VG by itself. It is
slightly sweet. As others above have said, it carries less flavor, more vapor.
I'm going through this quandry right now too....I've been vaping mostly PG/VG mixes for months, but wanted to try the VG thing again since my tool of choice (mini REO) is used by many VG vapers out there. The vapor I'm getting is okay, but the flavor disappears after a very short while and my throat is on fire....I'm getting a singed feeling in my mouth, throat, and nose and I was very much not expecting that. I am wondering if my expectations were off base, or if my equipment could be to blame (LR510 1.5ohm from PS), or is it possible that I'm a little allergic?
What nic level are you vaping? You've probably thought about this, but some possibilities off the top of my head:
1) Peppery taste = nic too high for your mix
2) Poor atomization - Try thinning the VG a little. PG/PGA/Water
3) If you think you are a little allergic, don't vape it. Try pure PG at that nic level and see.
4) LR atty is too hot and "burning" the juice, making it nasty (doubt it, but added it anyway. You're at 3.6 volts...14500......).
5) Flavor issue - Try another flavor, or try unflavored at your nic strength if you have some.
2 cents. Love the username BTW.
