Question: how would wick removal from the atty affect the feed system, if at all?

As I stated, I remove those threads from the bridge. They serve no purpose on the Phidias. I've had them burn and taste nasty on my Phi, get rid of them. I don't need to use a toothpick like in that video. I have some high-quality, curved end tweezers that work great. I just grab them and pull them out, takes less than a minute.

I have never removed a bridge, but I might try that too since it also serves no purpose with the Phidias.

the Last of my reserve of Phidias in a Basket...

Some of these designs will be retired...

The ones on both ends (top and bottom) and in the center column top and bottom will be retired.

Left end top and bottom:1. and 2. are Babinga Chassis and end caps with Padauk inlays. These are a real favorite of mine, but alas, low in contrast.

Center Row top and bottom; #5 and 6 are Purple Heart chassis with Paduak inlays and caps--(the inaugural design) time for a change.

Far Right Top and Bottom #9. and 10 are Babinga Chassis and end caps with Purple Heart inlays...These are also a favorite of mine, they are however very low contrast--sneaky cool.

If you want something on the rare side these would be the ones to pick...
------------------------------

Number 3. (the top of the second column from the left) Figured Lacewood with Purple Heart appointments.

Below it # 4. is a fine looking Plain sliced African Wenge with Paduak appointments.

The Remaining column, fourth from the left, #7. and 8. are Figured Lacewood chassis and end caps with Birdseye Maple inlays...very cool.

This is the last of my stock on hand---I'll be starting a new production run soon.

If there are any requests, either for Lefty units or special wood combos now would be the time to tell me about it...

Thank You All
Best Regards

Down to my last two HV attys....
I just ordered some nichrome wire to start rebuilds- already have plenty of rope for the wick...
Will have to try a few different versions...
How fast are you going through attys? Are you using LRs, HV or regular?

I've got a decent setup at work for that sort of surgery (stereoscopic microscope, dental tools, precision tweezers, lots of light). It's interesting to me that no manufacturer has seen fit to offer a wickless atty.

WOW....I had no idea you were rebuilding your atomizers. SWEET! Do you have a tutorial posted?

I'm using the regular 510 atty. I still have not killed an atty, but I'm a noob remember. However, I've been using about 3 mL per day on my Phi (heavy vaping) for 9 days now and this atty works perfectly (no bridge threads). I've been wondering if it will ever die it works so well. I have run it to glowing red for about 1 min a couple times to "clean" it and that's it.

Overkill, you don't need anything but some good tweezers. Just go in there and pluck those nasty fibers out.

I spoke to SLB (DSE) about it back in July, and shared the bridgess post and videos- they didn't want to go down this road even for a custom run that I proposed. They said it would present problems and would be a challenge for them to supply, but they wouldn't elaborate. I believe the wick does serve a purpose in that it acts as a sort of buffer to protect your atty from burning out... I found some good ways to clean my atty and stopped having the burnt juice problems so never really bothered with it and didn't think about again it till you asked yesterday...

I've had my Phidias for a week now and it's been fantastic. Haven't had to touch with carts or the mess they create. I'm also extremely impressed that I have not seen even one drop of leakage. I thought for sure I would see at least a little residual juice leak down the outside of the needle but this has not been the case. Kudos to you fono for building a great looking product that performs excellent.
