That retro wenge is a beaut! =D What is it that makes it a retro vs the others?

Hi Jack,

All the current Phidiae start out life as retros----the rounded ones get that way by me shaping them round by hand on my industrial 6X48 sanding station---one false move and yeah...game over...

I personally like the Retros just as much if not a tad more than the rounded version...

Inside scoop:>the chamfered Retro side cut visual increases the look of the inlays thickness...

Thanks for asking
fono

Thanks, fono! Looking closely, I see exactly what you mean. They're all so great! Thanks for the explanation!

Hi everyone, seems I was able to sneak in and purchase the Patriot. I decided three days ago to get a feeding mod, purchased a wetbox on Sunday, decided I may as well actually get a nice mod last night and settled on the Phidias after seeing all the gorgeous photos all of you have posted.
Glad to be here, glad to be part of the phamily.

Hey Pham,
How's everyone today?
The anticipation is rising, I just got a righty Phid in the mail today, curly maple/padauk looks sharp.
I'm secretly hoping that the "something new in mind" that fono talked about has me at the top of the list. He's been keeping me in suspense for awhile now. We've been emailing back and forth about ideas and he's told me he's got some ideas.
He just never lets the cat out of the bag for me!!!!! lol
I'm sure I'll get am email from him today.

Yeah, the Cali-pepper, it's going to be tight, however, I've something else in the works that I've been thinking about doing for a while...let's just say it has something to do with my long involvement with high end wood working...

Head Scratch?

Glad to see I'm not the only intrigued by this!!!

I don't know if anyone else is doing this, but I put a small cedar shim behind my bottle so it actually pushes the feed button out. The door stay shut just fine and it makes feeding much easier on my Phid. You could use cardboard, a matchpack or what ever for your shim I just had a bundle of shims in the shop and cut a small piece of the cedar shim to fit in the little slot behind the bottle, pushes my button out about 1/4" from the back wall and dam it's a nice little trick to make pushing that button very easy. I'm not on this thread to often so if someone has already posted this and everyone knows then sorry and just drop it but I just wanted to make sure others are enjoying this as much as me, gotta love this beautiful Box The Phid !

I use the plastic disc that's sent as the battery cut-off, instead of storing it behind the battery, I store it behind the bottle.

I have long fingernails and never have been able to push the button the way it is, so I extended my button from the time I first got my Phid. But I dont have a wood shop LOL, so instead I put 5-6 pieces of masking tape on top of each other, cut them into a circle the size of the button and taped it onto the inside of the button .. that makes my button stick out about 1/8" on the back .. works great and I dont break a nail because then I can push with the side of my finger instead of my finger tip, by the time the button comes flush to the Phid it has already sent the juice to the atty.
