Ah the Phidius Mystique... the the legend ... it's my go to vape in the morning; monday when the .... hits the fan, tues when things have mellowed, in the evening when all is quiet...
It's better than a lowly analog, like a fine cigar (not that i've smoked cigars)... the Phidius has a "vibe" of its own.

and no i don't really have too much time on my hands...
(wife calls...)

In general, I tilt my Phi past vertical, hold down the feed button and start hitting. When I hear the crackling and start feeling strong vapor, I let off the feed button and keep inhaling. I'm using 70/30 (PG/VG) and have NEVER had a leak anywhere. If the Phi has been sitting for awhile, I'll hold it upside down, press the feed button for about 5 seconds, then start hitting it with button still down until I hear the crackling.....then I let go of the feed button. Like I said, it's an art form that you learn just by practicing. In time, you'll get a feel for exactly what you need to do to get nice hits everytime. Practice makes perfect!

I don't know if my rambling helps.....but that's my two cents.

Ohhhhh, guess I'm not using it like the "big boys" yet cuz I dont know about tilting it "past vertical", I've been turning it completely upside down. And as for being able to push both buttons at the same time, well I am a girl with small hands and just pushing the feeder button is a chore, no way I could ever manipulate pushing both together LOL. And, as for hearing a crackling noise .. oh how I wish, but alas I have not heard any crackling.

But I am getting, what I consider to be, fabulous vapes and am not getting anymore leaking now that I'm using a thicker juice. Maybe someone would have a picture of what the "past vertical" thing is all about?

Lol. Just lol.
me too... partially from the response and partially because he meant past horizontal.....the general idea is just tilt it up a bit towards the sky so the juice runs towards the atty coil as opposed to down towards the connector ...

For what its worth, just enjoy it for a few days - the more you use it, the more you'll find different things that work better or worse for you.

HUH? Am I suppose to turn it vertical or horizontal? Am I suppose to turn it upside down or towards the sky? LOL .. all I know is whatever way I am doing it, it is working and not leaking LMAO. I'm not a beer drinker so never have understood when you guys talk about the beer bottle principle either.

Maybe I can help with this one...

We're talking about the Fire Feed technique...

One in which you feed and fire at the same time, particularly helpful with say, 801 attys on tall adapters... although quite useful even with the shortest of them like a 306lr...

Long neck beer bottles rules apply, that is to say, one needs must hold your
Phi so as to keep the feed tube's bottle end in juice...

take the lid off, (tip and see) check it out, just a bit past horizontal gets the job done...

the fire feed is something you should explore, remember its not so much about pressure on the feed button, its about taking the time.

what better than to spend your time vaping?

It's really quite a nice feature

-----------------

You now own a vape ring cannon:

I've been using the 306 lr cartos and do not care for the heat--so I use/slip the condom it was shipped in as an insulator.
I punched a nice round hole through it, with a retracted ball point pen tip...

When I tip it down now to re-load I get perfect vape rings...

file it under Phi-games 101

So glad you're dialed now stashbldr

Best

If you hold the Phidias horizontally if you think about it the tube from the bottle to the atomizer is also horizontal. It you continue tilting just a bit more so that the atomizer is lower than the bottle, the end of the tube at the bottle end will be 'under water' or in the juice. That's all the further you need tilt to move juice to the atomizer. If you were to inhale on the atomizer at this point you'd be pulling the juice from the bottle with the suction from the inhale. Push the fire button and now you're both vaping and feeding. That's what they were talking about with the 'Fire Feed.'

I guess I should have just said go past the gas station and turn right at the supermarket as opposed to 1 mile on Main street and turn right onto Broadway....
Glad you got it and well put bsoplinger....

heck i can't even do the "beer sip vape" myself!!
good going stashbldr!

this is like giving guitar lessons....
It's all about leverage-
if you're right handed (this works for me follow one finger at a time): with the juice button facing you, put the bottom right corner nnear the center of your palm - start with the pad of your thumb squarely on the juice button, middle finger opposing your thumb on the other side of the phid , index finger reaches up over the power button - depending on where it falls, let your ring finger support from the bottom or wrap around the bottom pannel (wherever its comfortable).... press the juice button a bit, tilt it up, a second later hit the power with your index finger... for extra points you can stretch you pinky up in the air and be a snob....

quick edit: Tilt it up first then press the juice button..
Left handed- same idea but hold the phid with your finger tips instead of in your palm...

My new Phidias (2nd one) is working great. Thanks Fono! Bump!

Right-on,

Point of order:

The so called Woodiums-Feedimus line found elsewhere are not my exclusive work product.

So are not supported by me---meaning don't send them to me for repairs.

(disclaimer)

My Phidias feeders all have:

Fully Contoured/rounded profiles;

100% solid copper wiring;

Hand turned, totally flush, over sized exotic wood feed buttons from the very same Phidias stock--that run in a chase for the smoothest possible non egging out over time--deployment.

Custom connectors drilled out to spec from genuine Gold 510 connectors.

A relief in the spine to improve juice flow.

sorry to have to post this, but you all need to be informed I will not fix those others for you.

If you didn't buy it from me, (as of 9-11-10) it's not my exclusive work product.

Cheaper price though...I understand the need to save money now-a-days..

So...do what you need to do, but you do need to know where to send them,

Not to me...
----------------------
Done, end of due diligence..

Good Luck out there
Best Regards
