I have another coil setup to share. This is 2 pcs of 32 Kanthal braided together, then used to wrap the coil. The resistance of this coil is .8Ω. The vapor production is as good as dual wicks, except the TH is much more reasonable. I have a tool that is basically a small handle with a round hook on the end. The hook is about the size of a dime. I take 2 equal pieces of kanthal, about 3 inches in length, holding them together, I wrap one end around the hook a couple of times then twist a couple of times. Now the 2 wires are secured to the hook. Then I firmly grab the other ends with hemostats or needle nose pliers. Spin the hook until the 2 wires are tightly braided together as if they are 1. I always burn the wire before I do anything with it, it just makes it much less springy and easier to work with.

HA. That what I use sometimes. But I hook the looped end on a nail or something and use a drill to twist a few feet at a time. I end up about 1ohm. Certain juices anyway.

I'll try it on the cobra once I'm able to get to the post office. They claim a notice was left for me to pick up the package, but no notice was left. In fact, he was nowhere near our street. My guess is they were pulled off the street due to weather and all packages just sent off to PO for pickup.

 I've been a carpenter for 20 yrs. do you think I ever thought of grabbing one of my 5 drills? Thanks for the tip.

 I'm sorry I didn't mean to laugh. Im laughing at the fact that you could twist miles of them with 5 drills.

Yeah. I twisted it by hand but can't take all the credit. I did it by hand for each coil. Then this idea came. 5 or so feet at a time then recoil them on a spool for future use.

just walk away from it for a while, I had a really hard time with it yesterday so I set it a side and rebuilt it when my new tank came in and it's hitting like a champ. I'm used to a bigger wick hole and I use a drill bit to make coils on my other genesis. so what I did different today was like somebody else said in another post I use a lot of SS mesh and rolled it really tight so it was easier to work with

I've walked away from it three times today... With my temper it's a wonder that it's still useable and in one piece.

I'll just accept the fact that i can not make a coil and so RBA are just not for me.

(I also have a genesis maxi that i could never get to work right... been in a drawer for about a year now.)

Phrosty looks great Moo. Thanks.

All of the above... E1, E4, E8 (ProVari) errors over and over and over. I'm just done with it.
Ok. Take a break. Just make sure that you're provari is turned down to 3V to start. Starting higher (depending on ohms) will almost ALWAYS have provari throw a fit. Those are shorts more likely. So either oxidizing more may be needed.
The easy setup is oxidize, roll, then oxidize. And before you wrap your coil, oxidize anything above the cap (anything that makes contact with the hole/wire, again. Then nudge them around. Those wires have to be snug so that you can still nudge them. Not loose or tight.
Once you get this, you can experiment with other methods. For now, even OVER oxidizing just to get you going is likely best.

That's a shame. The Cobra is the best RBA I have and you'll be missing out on a good vape. I had frustrations too when I started out with RBA but it just takes practice. What really helped me out was watching Zen build a coil. Maybe it will help you too.

Provari's are the hardest device to get a genny working on. Do you have a mechanical mod you can use? Its almost required that everybody learns to get coils working on a mechanical mod then move up to a Pro once its mastered. The Pro will throw codes over every little imperfection

It's not pretty, but I've got a coil working at 2.3 Ohms.

I'm having problems with a very burnt taste. I don't see any hot spots when I apply voltage, in fact the coils aren't turning red anywhere. I did seem to have something (juice?) contacting both the wick and center post. I pulled the wick away from the center post a bit with a pick. Any ideas?

Sounds like it should be a hot spot issue. Not even a tiny glow spot somewhere around the back of the coil? The tiniest spot is enough. Try removing that fill screw. Vape like that for a half hour or so.
