My Contest Suggestion

This Valentines Day - Instead of doing something for Someone You Love . . .
What Can You Do To Make the Day Really Special For Someone - YOU DO NOT KNOW . . .

1) One Entry Per PERSON

2) Come Up with A Creative Idea and Task That YOU Can Accomplish On Valentines Day to Show "YOUR LOVE" for Someone YOU DO NOT KNOW (Ex: Get a Dozen Rose (or more - or any flower) and Hand one to the Next 12 People you see on the Street (be a Woman or a Man or a Child) AND SAY Happy Valentine's Day; Go to a Nursing Home/Senior Center/Health Clinic and Volunteer to Visit with everyone for the Day; Take a Box of Chocolates/Cake/Cookies (Sugar Free of Course) to a Neighbor Who You Never Meet Before and Wish them A Happy Valentines Day; Go to a Local Police Station/Fire Department/Emergency Medical Team with Lunch/Dozen Cup Cakes or Go To An Abused Womens Shelter and Drop off Flowers/Flower Arrangement/Box Of Candy/Fruit Basket with a Card Telling them How Much They Are Loved . . . BTW: I have actually done these).

3) To Avoid it becoming a "Popularity" Contest of Likes - You or Your Team or even a Group Of Moderators could pick the best one as the Winner or DO a Random Number Drawing.

4) Who ever is the "Winner" would then have to actually do the task and post at least One Picture to confirm they acomplished the task.

Ok Just as soon as my brain wakes up I will do that, was in a car accident this morning and I got ruffled up bit and the pain pills are helping my pain but my brain is out their some were. I have a feeling I'm gonna be real sore in the morning.

Since every idea I had was taken in the first 2 pages, I will suggest the old no-talent-needed Random drawing.

Here is my suggestion for a contest: The teacher in me is coming out here. In math you involve kids in activities that make them look for shapes in the things around them. Young kids might look for all the square, round, etc things they can find in the classroom or outside or at their house. Older kids you might have them look for things that are symmetrical. My thought is that they need to find a sign or something in nature that resembles one of the phiniac tanks on the website, current or past and post a picture of each.( can someone maybe repost this I am also on a mobile)

I like it too and I have to say Uncle's heart is certainly in the right place!
Great idea to do these things on Valentine's Day or any day.
We could also include our local animal shelters..take some treats and things they would enjoy.
They need some love too.

Actually, my suggestion is just for the contest, "My Examples" are things I did and I do not think should be part of the contest - EXCEPT As Examples . . .

Now as for Your suggestion, to me that would be an entry from you into the contest, and one that could be even expanded to bring the a "treat" for the Shelter workers for Valentines Day too . . . (I have another suggestion, along this line, as an entry that I will not post so someone else can have a chance to use it for an entry . . .)

In Addition, if my suggestion for a contest is chosen, I think people who enter need to come up with Their OWN different creative ideas than "My Examples." AND BOY - DO I BELIEVE PEOPLE COULD COME UP WITH SOME MORE VERY CREATIVE IDEAS . . .

My Contest Suggestion

I still think it would be best to keep things simple. One or two entries per person, detailing any enjoyable or nostalgic memory from valentines past... post can range from as simple as the first time you gave/received a flower/gift on valentines day to as big as detailing your valentines day proposal or marriage! Seems this would make for good chit chat and a nice little way to get to know more of those among the ECF community.


I would also like to suggest using the program that picks the entry winner from a hat! Maybe it's just me but the name in a hat just makes the drawing feel a bit more personal, I mean random.org just makes me...

8-10 entries each, chatter counts as entries (to avoid some people getting 18 entries and some getting 2) but at least half of your posts must be actual entries, random number wins.

Post a line or two from a song or movie that includes the word LOVE - considered entry
Name the movie or song, year it came out and band or actor - considered entry
