I love my IBTank on my mini, but my sister wanted a Phiniac tank so when I ordered one for her they looked so gorgeous that I ordered one for myself too. I am not at all familiar with them, though the excellent reviews make me pretty confident in my purchase.
I am sure there are a ton of threads on these tanks on ECF, but as you all know their search function leaves a lot to be desired!
Any advice on using this tank would be greatly appreciated. Also any pics of one on top a ProVari, or links to said pics would by awesome!
Thanks all!!

(Not my tank) The caps will be delrin plastic, unless you ordered the anodized titanium caps extra. You'll be impressed with the tanks. I had one (below) which I removed the delrin caps and replaced them with the caps from a Hoosier Vapes' Bella-Elegance. I managed to crack this tank, so now its an expensive knick-knack. :(

Thanks for the pics. Spydro, WOW! That custom work is incredible. And thanks Bad for the pics and the link to Phil's review, I should've known he'd have one. By the way, sorry about your knick knack, how'd you manage to crack it? I hear they are pretty tough.
Well, the caps that come on the Phiniac tube offer protection against falls and bumps. With the caps from the Bella-Elegance tank, the glass hangs out beyond the caps. So the glass takes the direct blunt force of the contact instead of the caps. My fault for not using the default caps, but you have to admit it was a nice looking tank with the custom caps.

I'm going to be in the minority here and say that I'm disappointed in one of my Phiniacs. The other one is fine, as I never use it. A custom tank and anodized end caps is quite an investment. I kept that tank at home, and did not drop it. However, the anodizing is chipping off and it looks like crap now. I will not purchase another one.

Well, there is no denying that Phiniac makes a very high quality tank. I only had one, and can only judge by that one. Granted, you could say that I "abused" my tank by matching it with another manufacturer's caps, but its the only tank that I've cracked. I have a dozen IBTanked's and not one has cracked.

I will also say that the default naked tank with black plastic end caps is rather pricey at $38. Phiniac does offer more types of customization of the glass than any other tank manufacturer that I know of. But the option for metal caps is an additional $19 for the anodized titanium caps (in colors). That's $57 for a glass tank with metal caps.

On the other hand IBTanked sells their glass tanks for $5 - $6 and anodized aluminum (in colors) caps for $17.50. Thats just $23 total for just as nice a tank IMHO.

$23 vs $38/$57. IBTanked for the WIN. Just my :2c:

That was pretty much my point. I did break the tube of an IBTanked once (dropped it on concrete, tank first) but that only cost me $5 to replace. And the anodizing is holding up much better, too. So, my advice would be to shop around a bit before you buy,

Thanks for the heads up about the anodizing wearing off. I didn't order the caps simply because of the price. 2 tanks with nice sandblasted design, color added and personalization was $100.50 without the caps, so they are spendy. I was hoping the caps that come with them look ok, if not do you know of other caps that fit properly? Like maybe from IBTank I hope as I agree with Bad, in my opinion they are the best carto tank and just happen to be a fair price.
