I have read a lot of posts on the forums about this subject. I finally went to my Doctor... It is all very simple, according to him.
Because I was a pack a day smoker for greater than 20 years, my body is not getting the tobacco(smoke) only vapor. As a result.. My body is clearing all the gunk out. Case closed...Sounds like this will subside soon. And it also sounds like a logical explaination. Please correct me if you have a different explaination. Thank you

Hi Glittered, Welcome to the ECF. I agree with your summarization completely. I had a rough bout of caughing up junk from about week four to week six, not every day but on and off then at about week six I noticed that I felt lighter in the chest and haven't really had any signs of issue since then. I do on occasion get clear stuff but mainly after a day where I vape over 8ml of liquid and thats not too often even at that pace. Good Luck . Happy vaping.

I'm having terrible bouts with severe mouth ulcers. Have read med school studies stating majority of smokers that quit will get them. And, that they're not involved with NRT's, but, when I vape they come back. . .get worse. When I quit, they heal. I'm not a nooby, been at this going on a couple years. I did smoke tobacco more than 52 years. Maybe my system is just slow to recover. Scared heck out of me when the ulcers first showed up, sort of a relief to hear the majority of tobacco quitters got them. My coughing went away more than a year and a half ago. Nose still drips if I go greater % VG. Wish somebody would do studies on this crap. I hate being a "Lab Rat". JMHO

Propylene Glycol can cause sinus issues as well for some people, especially if you are doing french inhales (letting the vapor out of your mouth and inhaling through your nose) or exhale the vapor through your nose. Getting into a 100% VG mix isn't as simple as buying a bottle of 100% VG juice, you have to cut it with pure grain alcohol or distilled water (or reverse osmosis water) and then you'll end up lowering the flavor and the nicotine content. To get into 100% VG the best way is to learn how to DIY it.

In the short term I can recommend a product called XLEAR if you are having sinus issues, like postnasal drip. It'll clear you right up, it's over-the-counter and about $8 a bottle.

kiwi, dentist sent me to a Specialist, he gave me some special rinse to use to SEE if the sores healed. If they did, then it wasn't cancer. So, I stopped vaping and used the rinse several times a day. Two weeks later I went back to Specialist. . .told him the sores were healing. He looked and said, your're right. So, it's not cancer. But, I felt like telling him, "thanks for scaring the holy crap outta me". And a waste of $500 dollars. The rinse the regular dentist sold me cleared the sores faster than the more expensive rinse the Specialist sold me. JMHO

Sounds like a sensitivity. Glad you found something that heals them - and yeah, that was a scary approach from the Specialist.

Coughing is most commonly caused by the cilia that line your lungs cleaning out the tar and mucus. Your body is in the process of cleaning out all of the junk coating the surface of your tissues and will cough it up in the form of phlegm. It’s not pretty, but think of it as a makeover on the inside. This is a good thing.
Studies have shown that this process begins within a few days. You will most likely experience a morning cough for about a week, and clearing for up to a month. Recommendation: Consume lots of water to help this process along. For sinus congestion, take an over-the-counter medication until it dissipates. I use a sinus rinse and a nasal lubricant.
