Been vaping for about 3 months (lung vaping)

Does anyone have a problem with coughing up huge amounts of the above title?
Its seems the clouds leave a thick lining in my throat/lungs and constantly heaving/coughing up, surely this is not right?

I did have a week off and was fine which leaves me to believe the vaping (for me) is a problem.

Thoughts?

Sounds like maybe too much VG; it has that effect on a lot of people. I have to vape 84% PG or more; even 80% PG gives me so much phlegm in my throat I can barely talk.

VG isn't harsh at all, but it's VERY thick. It condenses on the surfaces of your airways and adds *considerably* to the natural phlegm production. PG is much thinner, and apparently the lungs can rid themselves of it very easily -- I do have a little phlegm, but nothing like when I smoked; I have asthma, so I've had to learn to cough productively; using such high PG, the stuff I cough up is nearly as thin as saliva, and there really isn't much of it -- if I didn't have asthma, there probably wouldn't be any. It's also clear, unlike the crud I coughed up while smoking, and just after for a few months. But after 3 months of non-smoking, the cilia have regrown, enabling the lungs to clear themselves much more easily than while smoking.

PG *can* be harsh, and everyone has a different threshold of tolerance for it; I can vape 85% PG, but at 90%, it burns my throat and nasal/sinus tissue. Many people can tolerate 70%-75% PG very easily; fewer use as high a percentage as I do, and fewer still use more.

4-5 months

Still pretty new and for some the first few months is full of your body adjusting.

Also everytime I change up my vape habits, such as lowering resistances, or higher wattage etc, my body and throat adjusts again.

If it worries you, see a doctor just to be sure.... Maybe now that your lungs are cleaner along with all your mucus membranes, you are more sensitive to allergens.

I read somewhere, ( It might have been here) that cigarettes have an additive that is similar to anti-histamines that keeps your airways, and nasal cavities from being inflamed.

If the stuff you are coughing up is black or brown, it's probably just your lungs still clearing out the analog gunk. If it's clear to slightly milky, it's probably VG. If it's yellow or green, that's a sign of infection. Go see a doctor. I vape 70%+ VG and I cough up some clear(ish) stuff if I chain vape with a dripper and high VG juice will make your lungs feel heavy if you vape a lot of it. You know your body better than any of us though. If it's worrysome to you, go get it checked out. :thumb:

Never give in and buy a pack of smokes , trust me you will regret it . It takes a lot of trial and error to find your perfect vape , if you have been completely cig free for 4 months thats a great start .

Maybe alter your type of vape , try a different juice , experimentation is key to getting out of a rut but for Gods sake do not fall back and purchase more cancer sticks .

I would also strongly advise to drink a lot more water during the day , it can help big time.

Clear VG sh*t then...even thinking of giving in and buying a pack of smokes
You are an adult and of course are free to do what you want to do but if you really want to be smoke free you have gotten some good advice.

Before you give in to the allure of a pack of smokes you may want to consider an eliquid with less VG in it. I vape 60pg/40vg myself. I don't lung hit but even with my MTN (mouth through nose) style of vaping, going higher on the vg causes me a bit of congestion. I find myself trying to clear my throat and having a hard time doing it. Wishing you good luck on your vaping journey. Sometime it takes a bit of trial and error but in the end it is well worth it.
