I'm not sure about getting a 9 mm yet. Maybe never. I need to practice enough to strengthen my hands. Otherwise, no way. I can shoot a 9 mm. But, the kick would wear me out pretty quickly. I have very weak hands.

I'm so jealous. The whole world out there with 9 mm guns. The most common round out there. And, they're off limits for me.

I held the Mark IV for a minute. It feels quite large in my hands. (No wisecracks, please.) It's a really big gun for a 22.
Maybe check out a Glock G43, or a G26. They are both smaller, and good for personal defense. Both 9mm. Maybe also put a few rounds in the magazine, then take a rest after firing. Hopefully someday you will be able to get a 9mm. Best of luck!

Last time I went to the range, Candy handed me her Glock 43 saying that surely I could handle that 9 mm. I could. But, it was a bit harsh for me. If I end up making a regular habit of going to the range, a G43 might be doable. Otherwise, I'll stick to my 380, 22, and 32.

I don't really NEED to have too many choices to collect guns and spend money. Having fewer choices does save my money, at least.

Yup, maybe I could handle and enjoy a big honking 9 mm. :)

I don't know the weight right off but a Beretta 92 series might work.
Even a Glock 17 might get bad when it's low on ammo.

If you can shoot a 380 you're not that far from 9mm. My little pocket 380 is bad (partially because my middle finger doesn't close all the way).

I didn't think of that.

I looked at one at the farm store, first thing I thought of. Second thing was muzzle blast. Man, those are short barrels.

@DancingHeretik ... if you get the opportunity try handling a Ruger LC9S. Janet has small hands and she much preferred the Ruger then my G43 for 'hand fit and comfort. I like the G43, but if you don't shoot it a lot the trigger can make your finger sore. The Ruger trigger seems a bit smoother on the finger (the feel/fit not the trigger pull/break).

I was thinking of a Barrett 50 cal with armor piercing incendiary rounds for home defense.

Only the ammo dealers will rob you then.

The way the ground looked at my friend's rage you might need dry wallers and painters if you fire it inside. And an ear Dr.

...and the Pro version alleviates the silly magazine disconnect, and uses just a holster as the "safety" (as some of us prefer).

ahh, now that's another 'thing' my wife didn't like about the G43, no safety. She carries in her purse and feels better that the LC9S has a safety. Me, not so much fond of a safety.

I'm with you, and glad she's smart enough to stay in her comfort zone. :thumb:

I used to live about 8 miles away from Flint, MI. On a clear summer night, you could hear the gunfire.

That 50 sounds about right.

In an effort to relieve some tension from a thread in the New Members Forum I'm starting a thread for everyone to show what they carry. All vapes, knives, guns, pens, zippos, etc are welcome. I just ask that vape gear is included (so it stays vape related on a vape forum) as well as descriptions of what you're posting.

I just wish to thank the OP for starting this thread. 6 years ago, I hesitated even making Roland Deschain my avatar, because I didn't want to get off on a wrong foot. In fact, I used Rush Vapor Trails as my avi for the first few months, then decided to ditch it for that which I really wanted (and remains to this day).

So it's been refreshingly fun for me here in this thread, and I appreciate it (for however long it lasts).

Thank you. :)

Y'all need to stop getting me to google different guns the way I usually google different mods!

That Ruger LC9S does look good. Not sure about the Pro. I might feel different after I've handled my guns more. But, for now, I really like the safety.

ETA: They even have a purple LC9S!
