Roof rakes were ALL the rage.

None here so I was out in subzero on a ladder for a few hours breaking through an icedam over a foot thick when the melt was leaking through into the bedroom & the kitchen.
That was memorable.
Heat gun = zero usefulness
Fiskar axe + about 30lbs of salt finally got er done. ....in' horrorshow.
They wonder why us Yankees are so cantankerous.

Step 1 - porch, walkway, around the cars (that's my shovel-shaped snowthrower)
Step 2 - brush just enough to to see enough to get out and to the end of the street safely
Knock off the rest and leave it for the socialist plow instead of shoveling it myself
Step 3 - drive a few miles to let any leftovers blow off and park it.
Step 4 - Same for her car.
No gloves and didn't even bother zipping the coat cause it's a sweltering 19°F
Step 5 - Vape that .... and go in for my reward.
