My 18350's are all authentic AW IMR Button Tops. Most of them are the 800mAh rated at 12A. There is probably up to a couple of dozen of them buried in storage around here someplace that most of haven't been in charger since early 2014, and 4 of them that were used in a particular mod a few months longer. I also have some that are the earlier 700mAh version.

They tested lower than 12. They are more like 8.

I need to check for sure but I don't think that any batteries from back then exceed 6 amp. I could be wrong but a check with mooch will give the answer. The excocell is the best 18350 you can buy these days... Makes use of mod modern battery technology to achieve the higher amps :)

The specs quoted were pre Mooch (or at least before I started following his work). Bought them from a dealer back then that was trusted for having authentic AW batteries.
AW IMR 18350 3.7v 800mAh

I'd have to dig back in my Mooch files to be sure, but I don't remember having his specs for any 18350's. (When I discovered him I no longer used the 18350's, so didn't look for specs on them.)

Thought these looked pretty cool together.

FUMA cig-a-like circa 2009 and Aurora Play by Vaporesso circa 2019. My how things have evolved.

Like the match and agree.

Another odd couple that were like they were made for each other...

A circa February 2011 Blue Anodized OG Reo Mini and a circa 2009 Janty Stick Black Leather belt holster.

The holster also fits the later model Reo 1.0's that I also have.

Yes... The mistake is completely understandable...anyway back to in the day we often pulsed our batteries without knowing how dangerous it was... If they didn't get hot it was fine :)

I don't agree with dangerous... it was the info available from a widely trusted dealer AND the builds in the gear that was ran in those days did not even come close to pushing those batteries (not even up to half of that 12A rating).

As a follow I just looked in my old Mooch Recommended Battery files and found his charts dated 5/15/2015, 3/26/16, 6/29/2016 and 3/25/17 that all concurred with the exact same specs from that dealer for the AW IMR 18350 BT 800mAh (12A). So that was also his specs for years after I no longer used them. But I also remember he changed his method of rating some time back, so it's possible/probable that he no longer supports his old charts. It's all a mute point now days for my personal uses... I haven't used any 18350's for years and will never use any of them again. :)

No to be honest I put the d word because i'm painfully conscious that the uninitiated newbie may read this and i've decided to try not to write anything which would (or could) lead to problems for them....I think we're on the same page :)

As a follow... the downside of these Reo Mini setups (for a DLH vaper anyway) is that they are powered by AW IMR 14500 BT batteries. DL can suck all of the life out of those little 600mAh batts in short order.

AW IMR 14500 600.jpg

These are the smallest of all the metal Reos ever made, and the solid brass versions of them are also the heaviest of all the Reos ever made. Pics of the solid brass custom patina Reo 1.0 that ReoMeister Robert sent to me as a gift. I also have the tumbled raw brass one on the left in the picture above.

Not sure whether this counts as a picture of your setup but I hope it's ok to post :)

I just paid for some bespoke panels, drip tip and button for my Billet Box. They're going to be made out of this....

I'm really pleased as I have been waiting for several monthsfor this wood to come up...it doesn't come up very often as everyone seems to like the super dayglo dyed stuff....you know like the asmodus stabwood mods. They also go mad for a mixture of clear resin and stabwood.....To me you can't beat the natural look of a maple burl....these are going to look superb :)

I've got lots of chinese incoming too....fingers crossed it's going to be a good week :drool::D

Doing chemical patina and otherwise washes on brass, aluminum and black anodized Reo doors has been around a long time. But their heyday was probably around 4-5 years ago, with doing the entire Reos nearer the end or after that era. Some commercial companies also jumped on the door wagon and sold some of them for outlandish prices.

A few examples of ones done by the folks themselves that owned them (also have some pictures of the commercial sets too, but don't know where in my massive data base I saved them).

Nice wood that ought to make some beautiful panels. I'm not a fan of the BB, but I have seen some truly nice custom panels that were commercially made for them.

I still have a bunch of the wild woods that I hobby crafted for over 50 years. Have some of most of these in the picture (but not all), and have a bunch more not in it. Some of these are from your side of the pond, some from the Land of Taz, some from the tropics and others from the PNW.
