As I remember following the Hippie sandals of the late 50's to 1967 (the original Hippies, not the radical Yippies that soon followed them) the heydays for Earth Shoes was in the 70's and 80's and they have become harder and harder to find since. The most expensive brands still offer some, but it appears that even they are fading away too. Enter the 21st Century and a few years later the Crocs came along, and are still going strong. So I started using them too.

I went to Birkenstocks. They’re expensive but they last. The clogs still look as dorky as ever (doesn’t stop me from wearing them) but some of their other shoes are really cute lately.

No not dipping. In a nutshell these were spray treated with various specific chemicals (which chemicals determines colors and patterns). I have done my fair share of it, but it would take pages of typing for me to lay it all out for you. So... there is endless information on line about the different techniques, chemicals used for each of the metals that can accept a patina finish. There are also lots of videos showing vaping gear (mods, atty's, accessories, etc) being treated.

Not the only way for brass, but to give you a basic idea...

Thanks Spydro...I appreciate it :)

My blue anodized Reo OG Mini circa 2/2011, with a still new BUDZ WORX BF Hornet atty and an around 10 year old black leather belt clip holster that was originally for a Janty Stick that fits this OG Mini and all of my Reo Mini 1.0's perfectly. This pristine gear even has a matching DT and battery. It is only a MTL setup unfortunately though because of the Hornet and 14500 battery (I'm a DL vaper). So they were just bought to have some more examples of early Reo and vaping history.

Thanks. The Reos have seen more actual use than all the other mods I have combined.

A couple more pictures from the past...

A pristine OG VV Grand circa early 2011 with an IGO-S and Siner DT. It's variable voltage works flawlessly. Both the Reo and the atty would be considered rare as hens teeth now days I'd imagine.

Black anodized Reo SL 2.1 that ran a black Nuppin' w/Siner DT.

What modern atty do you reccomend for the mini 2.1? I just bought a blue mini from the Reos sale (on a whim) and would love to know the best way to drive it. I'm a DL vaper

Hope you bought a low profile 2.1 and not the earlier standard 2.1 with a higher atty base that was designed for carto's, atty's or modified atty's to go down into their deeper catch cup to reach the 510.

I could make a long list of the original atty's I bought for my Reos... years ago. But a problem with input from me now days is your quest for a "modern" atty that will fit on it. IOW, I haven't followed any small diameter atty's below 22mm-25mm-30mm for years, and none but mesh atty's for the past couple of years. Your limiting factors will be a diameter small enough to sit on top with no overhang (the Nuppin' is 18mm), their AFC('s) being DL capable or modifiable for it, and being BF ready for squonking.

I first started with MTL BF atty's that I drilled the AFC larger until better/higher quality attys' were found or came out (RM2's, RM3's, Viscious Ant Cyclones. ERA's, etc). I'd suggest a search to see what is available these days in 16mm-18mm BF atty's and then go from there.

Originals I doubt are still available, but you might still be able to get a clone Origen Sweet 16 (16mm) from China. Thre originals were $100+ (I have 4 of them), but the clones were no more than $10-$15 IIRC. They can be either single or double coil. With both AFC's wide open they are still a restricted DL draw though unless you drill the AFC's larger. They can be a great little flavor atty.
