That's cool! What all was involved to do that?

75ona76

ok you want to know my secret ???

her is a 2 page how to and a list of the parts you need

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...agneto-solid-non-teloscoping-body-hybrid.html

you will need
a longer 510 pos pin
a smoke natural optional 18500 extention tube
a dremal tool

thats all and the best part is you can swap back to the regular magneto style at any time to runn smaller batteries, because the dremal mod only removes a small portion of a non threaeded airia on the teloscoping tube body that is never seen !

there are 2 ways to do it with the same parts actualy, and the easyest would be to install the 18500 tube right side up then use a spare natural top cap if you can find one, this involves no dremaling and no swaping pins but you need to find a natural top cap from somewhere.

the other way you install the natural 18500 tube upside down and use the trimmed magneto teloscoping tube as an adapter, then swap out the positive pin for one a lil longer and thread the magneto cap on the naturals 18500 tube threads !

if you want to make it a solid body hybrid.... you need to indtall the 18500 tube right side up then add the natural 1 hybrid kit to the new tube and simply add your 22mm atty !!! this works because the 18500 naty tube on the natural makes it the right size for an 18650 battery button top, with the top end of a natural one could just add the natural top cap or get the nat-1 hybrid kit and make a one of a kind magnetic switch hybrid !!!

i have a nat-1 kit on the way !! so far i will be the only vapor with a solid body hybrid magneto !!!! chears !!!!!:vapor:

i am also seperatly working on a wooden sleeve for the magneto's tube body, the idea was not mine though it was another members...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/members/181904/propofokgov.html

he chimed in about how he made a custom silicon adapter and it looked awsome then told me about his pretty solid idea for a wooden shirt for it, we are bolth lokking into it now.

i am thinking redwood or iron wood turned down to fit over the center tube and then chamfered on the edges and then polished and waxed, the rest of the mod could be polished to a mirror finnish and a small wood round could be epoxied to the magnetic switch button on the bottom to make it more astetic

it would be an 18650 with a red wood center tube and a redwood button polished up to a mirror finninsh, could even be made a hybrid with the nat-1 kit !!!!

To dates I've been rocking a Nimbus RBA on a SmokTech Magneto and I'm pretty happy. I couldn't stand the smaller width of the extension for 18650 batteries so I covered it with Sugru as well as the bottom button. Hoping to get pictures of it up soon. Next step is to mill a wood extension overlay, as I think the contrast of Stainless and Oak would look boss!

this member has some great ideas on making the magneto a partial woody, and i plan to follow up ! i want to maintain the integrety of the magneto's origional state though when modding so it an be converted back at any time !

more modders should look into this sugru stuff it is a silicon clay that has great potential !!!!

I really like this,,, the size and how the copper patinas nice set up.

thanks! that's an 18650 batt as well.

for those that aren't familiar with Bay City Vapor ... the top cap is hollow and works like a hybrid, making direct connection from battery to atty.

Lavafire Rocket that I picked up from vaporbeast.com for like 12 bucks with a coupon code and free shipping. Just put a nova on it for testing purposes..isn't a terrible mod but there are some meh things about it. Little play within the mod with the battery, the diameter of the tube doesn't provide a snug fit for the battery. But it isn't terrible. Wasn't expecting much for a 12 dollar mod. Will probably get used tonight and put on my vape shelf lol.

Man it's good to see this thing still going. Wouldn't be complete without a fresh pic.

Simple and sweet & still getting the job done!

I was actually wondering about the OP of this thread. I checked your profile previously and it indicated that you hadn't posted on the site since Feb. 2013. Glad to see your still active in the vaping scene. I bet you never thought that this would be the most posted, read and commented thread on the entire ECF site. :)
