Hi Jules...
Hugs to you honey..This has to be one of the hardest things you probably have ever done.

Can't believe how I read earlier in this very forum how you gave someone a 905 and they said they Just bought a stick/V3 or something and got in mail...and hadn't gotten your free mod..these things I see -make me cringe..and know it must break your heart.

I truly do not remember who it was and do not mean to out this person..just think all before taking something from a TRULY giving kind person ..MANY are giving... not cause they are well off..because they like to helps other's down on their luck..who are worse off them themselves.

I do know this forum was created for the right reasons. Hope your vision can come true.

I check there regularly, Jules and I haven't seen anyone that I recognize. Although, I do miss a lot.

There was one that was pointed out to me just today that was doing exactly what I was talking about. That issue has been dealt with. They will no longer be on here. There is one more that is being watched right now that I know of.

No, I didn't donate a 905 to anyone. I sold one to someone and they didn't get it. I honestly believe this person and we have it worked out. I would be interested in knowing about the one you are talking about though.

I am quickly getting to the point that I dread getting on here. People just seem to be out for what they can get instead of what they can do. We have our regulars that help more than they really should but then we have ones that just have their hands out for whatever they can get for free. I am almost to the point of tossing my hands in the air and giving up.`I"m crying as I type this and hoping my husband doesn't notice how upset I am by all this because if he does he will make me step down. I can't handle a lot of stress because of medical issues and he is very protective of me.

People, we need to get back to our roots and do what this was meant to do, help others that need help. Not just try and fill our stash. Personally, we joke about my stash, it is a lot smaller now than what it used to be and I'm fine with that. I have been able to help many people. But I had a package ready to go out to someone today, thank God I slept in and my son got out before I could catch him to go to the post office. But I had a large padded envelope packed full of stuff only to find out that it would have went to someone that has more than I do. My heart is breaking over what this has become.

oh, girl, i was just trying to cheer you up a little

even with those very few mishaps we have had this forum is great
but you really should not lead with your heart so much, you'll get hurt and i think you are hurting now

mu heart is breaking over what this has become.

let's concentrate on the people like mick11 who was willing to trade his own stuff to get what his son needed until you stepped in. now you know you felt good that you could help.
there were others like mick who really deserved a helping hand and you were right there. but you got to make sure you are not going overboard.
when something goes wrong it throws you for a loop. let's stay with the little things for a while: a battery here or there, some juice to get somebody to the next payday, or an atty until a replacement can be ordered.
let's take it nice and slow for now, we can chat a little, swap some, pif, and list any good sales or coupons.
you deserve a lot of credit for being the heart and soul of this forum, let's make sure it will and can stay that way.

When the group first started our intent was to help those that came to us with a need and have fun trading flavors so we could try new ones without spending the extra money. We weren't judging or concerned whether or not someone was truly in need and allowed the universe to take care of it. It's trusting that a power higher than ourselves will teach the lessons that need to be learned and us not controlling the outcome.

Maybe the lesson for someone taking something they didn't need will lead them to do something amazingly generous somewhere else in their life, maybe not. We just don't know and aren't meant to know. If we do what feels right in our gut then we will always do the right thing.

I feel if we start watching everyone with skeptical eyes and hearts our true mission will be tarnished. We won't be as open to blessings and the bonding love that comes from each of us doing the right thing. I choose the blessing even if it means I send someone something I need more than they do. It's only stuff.

I DO think each one of us needs to stop and feel before jumping in and offering to give something to someone. What might feel right for one person may not feel right for another. There again... what lessons and blessings are meant for that moment... maybe none. :)

As much trouble as you have gone to, just to help others out and to have someone do that is a shame. I am glad they did not get what was in that padded envelope. Hopefully, the problem has been dealt with or is currently. I am new to the PIF group and have little say in anything but to the person who did this COME ON REALLY??

wow really?...

I mean it's a real pain to keep track of who accepts what in the PIF thread and monitor to make sure they don't sell it in the classifieds....

but seriously, no class in this at all....I'd have left negative feedback in the classifieds section about it too....taken it to the classifieds mod too and had their aboility to sell on classifieds restricted too...
That's just low...

I think we all Know that I started this with My Thread I posted yesterday, I was so upset that somebody would take advantage of Mine and the groups generosity that I almost threw my hands up in the air and said %#@ it and never do another act of kindness on this forum, I felt just like jules I have been a part of PIF since the beginning and feel this is my home and I am greatfull for all the help I have gotten and given. After mulling over it through the night I cannot and will not let somebody suffer by not getting our collective generosity and help!! bad apples will infiltrate but its up to us to keep this group safe and protect it from wolves in sheep clothing!! eventually everybody gets found out and Karma is a %$#ch

I need to make something clear. The 905 that natura is talking about is not one that I donated. I sold one in the classifieds a couple of weeks ago. I mailed it to the person that bought it and he never did receive it. Now I want you all, and especially him, to know that I truly believe that he did not receive the 905. I have no doubts in my head or my heart about this. We have it worked out to where he will get what he paid for. It is not his fault that USPS sucks and I wasn't smart enough to insure it and put a tracking number on it.

Homeish now
I totally understand why everyone is upset...to livid about such a situation.

And I am hardly suggesting we allow folks to take advantage of PIF.

But I do think we need to stay positive, scam charities happen all the time...I'd assume it doesnt stop you from donating toward things you think need help.
It doesnt me, and no I dont always know if the person asking for change outside the grocery store to build a womans shelter(or any cause) is really doing that.
I dont know if the homeless person is really using that dollar for food, or another bottle.
I dont know if the things i donate on freecycle are really going to a family in need, or to the flea market.

But it doesnt stop me....figure for every 1 scam there are at least 2 that I really helped.

So keep an eye out, if something doesnt feel right or add up let a mom(or big sis's) know. But keep your heart open and your chin up.

of course, a bit of "situational awareness" might be good here..
I agree, especially selling PIF stuff you get from the kindness of others, is low in the extreme, but selling high dollar mods and such may just be extra money for someone who needs a few extra bucks...

not condoning capitalizing on the generosity of others, but someone who gets pif stuff, and is selling their equipment *may* just be unloading equipment to gather a few extra dollars in a time of need.
