Well as the title says my Pilot batteries have a mind of their own. It seems whenever I am around somewhere with loud music and bass my batteries activate even if the atomizer is not connected. It was the worst last night. I was at a bar/club with two batteries in my pocket and the blue light was on almost the entire time. One battery completely died while the other worked when I came out, but did not last long. I did a search but didnt find much of anything. I am sure other people are having this issue as well. So has anyone found a way to stop or prevent this from happening? If this is the wrong section feel free to move it.

The Pilot batteries have an automatic switch which is activated by vibration, low frequency sound waves (bass) and sometimes even the wind. There's not much you can do about it other than keeping the battery separated from the atomizer when you encounter such situations. This wont stop the batteries from running down, but it will prevent the atomizer from burning up and burning your leg inside your pocket. If it's too much of a problem, I suggest getting a Penstyle 801 or something else without an automatic switch. Mini 901's have automatic switches as well, and mine is way more sensitive than the Pilot batteries, so stay away from those as well.

We went out to an all day bar concert with 5 bands saturday and had the same problem.
i had 4 pilots in a custom case and when i opened it while a band was playing they were all flashing on and off.
lucky i brought some camel frost snus or i would have probably bought some winstons.
the snus is great for getting thru concerts or to see bar bands without turning to analogs.
i cant wait for the new prodigy with the manual switch and long lasting batteries so i wont have to worry about it.
i still like the pilots the best but not around loud music..

i play bass in a band, and a week after i got my first pilot i brought it to rehersal, and on a break went to grab it from my coat pocket to discover all my batteries were dead... it took me a week to figure out that vibrations cause the battery to activate.
personally i think the pilot is in need of some serious re-designing, it's got a lot of potential, but it has yet to be fully unlocked.
If you keep them in a case / container insulated with felt / foam, this will minimise the problem.
yep I have the same problem with my 401 on one of the batterys that came with the kit but the battery I exchanged for is more sound friendly thats what I do for a living working for live bands being around loud music I usually keep a pack of anologs on me just in case Its my last resort but I really want to find a sound proof battery for my 401 really bad I have the same problem too its a drag when your batterys dies.. I know how you feel.. I keep it in a case to and in order to put it in the case you have to unscrew the battery and the atomizer to put it in it.. I hate when all the batterys die..
I got some 801 batteries from Beci that do the same thing. If that's the way these things are going to be made from now on it's time to go for manual switching. (I'm waiting for my Prodigy and Janty Stick).
He he yes they are sound activated. How do I know? because I have seen the microphone inside them when I made a usb pass through, yes they have their own little microphone, crazy huh? What I do with mine is unscrew it a little when its in my pocket so it doesn't activate the atomiser. The battery will still switch on but there is no load to drain energy and burn your leg lol.

Excellent tip! I just got three BE112 (same as DSE801) batteries from bestecig that are all very sensitive but one in particular comes on when it is in my pocket and I move in the slightest, keeping the atomizer going, burning my leg, and discharging quickly. Keeping it unscrewed will at least keep it from burning the atomizer (and my leg) and discharging so quickly. Is there a way to make it less sensitive?
OTOH, I have a battery from absolutelyecigs for M-201 that has the exact opposite problem. It is not sensitive enough. I can blow across the end of the battery and it does light, but it won't when it is attached to the atty no matter how hard it is drawn upon.
