It's common knowledge that some of us faced various skin issues, including zits, during our first weeks of quitting cigs and taking up vaping. Nearly four months in, I'm wondering how other 'long-timers' are fairing with the pimple action. I'm still dealing with zits. Sometimes just one or two, sometimes more. Often small, occasionally a mini-whopper. Skin on my face is oily, so I wash it more and drink a lot more water. But the zits remain. Worst of all, I have a lot of very tiny zits on my scalp, hidden under my hair, which itch like crazy sometimes. Well, nothing's bad enough to quit vaping, but I am cutting down from my former 2-3 cartos per day, hoping that helps. How's everyone else who's pimple prone doing? Am I alone in my small struggle?

You are not alone in this. Mine have started to become somewhat less frequent, but they still occur. I was hoping that by now (4 months in), they'd have stopped, but sadly, no.

It never got to the point where it was affecting anything, but they definitely are annoying to have pop up here and there.

I know quitting smoking has these side effects, but now wondering if the extra oily-ness is from all the vapor that's constantly around my head.

My brother has had problems with pimps all his life.. so when I was in junior high I started washing my face every night. Only at night time tho because washing your face multiple times a day can dry it up! I really recommend and swear by Noxzema. It's extremely cheap (3 or 4 bucks), just wash with warm water every night, you can get it at any store...walmart..weis, rite aid, etc. I only get a pimple once in a blue moon! This stuff works :D

I've got a theory about this. First off, we know our pores are expelling the years of smoke impurities we've bathed them in. The other thing that occurred to me though was the drying effect of vaping. Like Kimmy mentioned, washing your face too often will dry it out. Usually it rebels by producing more oil and then you're stuck in a catch 22. My question is, could the drying effect of vaping contribute to oil production? I've actually cut back to washing my face once a day rather than twice and using a gentle non-allergenic cleanser. (I use Basis but Kimmy's Noxema is good too.) I'm also trying to up my water intake. It's a little early to tell but I think it's helping. Now if I just don't float away.... ;) :D

Same here but it only lasted a couple of weeks. When I first started vaping I felt my face and arms were oily.
I just washed my face with a gentle soap and moisterized at night. I don't know if it was all the chems leaving my system or P.G. getting in my system but it went away.
Not a good look for a grandma..spots!
