I'm not a craftsman like so many of the pipe folks here, and I'm also very "frugal", but I did put together a "ghetto" e-pipe that is cheap and simple and really quite cool. Not trying to repost so I'll point you to my post here:

Edit: the cork is now black by the way...

I gave some explanation in the french forum: sorry in french :)
- the stem - from vintage vulcanite stem renewed - self explanatory with the photos:

- the zepipe 2 - again, with the photos.

inside the bowl, you see no wire - all hidden under wooden epoxy. You see only a magnet in the bottom, and a copper ring at the top, for contact.

I searched for the shortest and simplest circuit to keep maximum power, so no springs, short wires, and direct connections. positive side of 18350 battery goes on the bottom, maintained with the flat slim strong magnet. On the top, the switch is just a coin on a little magnet, on the negative side of the battery. When you press on a side with your finger, the coin touches the ring, and clouds of vapor :)Too simple to be true? Yet working great : great direct contact, then coin gets back to initial position and switch is off. System is super flat and is safe. Actually I think it works for epipemods too.

The switch is called " zepipe switch 55" - as originally made with a 50 cents magnet, and a 5 cent coin :). Everybody please feel free to use it, but keep the original name, thanks!:)

I showed how it works on the french forum, this is it - how it is understandable even in french
55.JPG

aimant = magnet
piece = coin
nuage = cloud :)

With this system I can work on little pipes such as zepipe 1 & 2, only 45 mm high. ( i.e. 35 mm for the battery, and 10 mm for the rest)

I love vintage design, objects with history, I love vaping, I will go on making epipes from vintage pipes for sure.
I would love to have a blogto show the zepipes - not ready yet, I am quite bad with computers :oops: - my goal is to sell some of them, to be able to invest more, and continue to discover new pipes and give them a second life...

Oh yes. Soon mon amie...soon.

Question. This bowl has a spring in the bottom. Do I put the battery in positive side down (spring) or positive side up (button)?

If the spring is at the bottom I would expect nipple side of the battery to be up top..

I should add that this is my first experience with a replaceable atomizer in the vivi. I have oinly used mega cartos and carto tanks so far. It is excellent, no doubt. I do not ever want to get into RBA's...that just seems like a big waste of time unless you ENJOY that sort of thing which I do not...but these replaceable atomizers...I can get used to this.
