I finally got some good juice. However, what I noticed is that I'm vaping way too much. I found myself going through a 20ml bottle in one and half days. I also noticed that I drag over 10 sec per inhale. I use VG 35% / PG 65% and have started to notice that I have developed a phlegm. The phlegm is very light but has a sweet taste to it. I believe this is due to over vaping because I vape like every 5 min or whenever I get the urge to do so. I vape a lot more when I'm sitting at my desk working. I do carry my mod with me, but I vape less when I'm out. I drink mainly water and keep a bottle water by my side. Nevertheless, I also know that I'm vaping too much because I stay with a nic headache even at 1.5 nic level. In addition, my pocket book does not allow me to keep going through one 20ml bottle ever other day. So, I have to place myself on a 2ml day habit. I also am trying to keep mindful of my drags. I'm trying to cut my drags down to 3 to 5 sec drags. Once I'm done with the 2ml, I'm done for the day with vaping. Stay tuned on my progress.

Try to DIY, this is part of the reason why I just vape unflavored. I vape 100% VG and I don't have the phlegm problem you have though.

2ml a day though? I'd be done in the first 1-2 hours of my day haha.

Yeah I know I wouldn't be able to vape 2ml in 1-2 hours. I can go through two 2ml in a day. But not in 1-2 hours.

Good luck rationing!

All joking aside...5 to 6 ml a day isn't to out of the ordinary for the set up you have. If you are having headaches then your nic level is probably to high or you are vaping way to much. There are two things you can try. One you have already hinted to and that is to cut back on the amount you are vaping. You are however trying to kick the stinkies so I wouldn't recommend this method because you want to make sure you are getting enough to satisfy your cravings. The second option is to drop you nic levels down to 12mg or maybe even 6mg in you juice and continue to Vape like you have been. Once you get the right nic level down then you can focus on cutting your costs. There are several low cost liquids out the that will suit someone with a tight budget such as Mount Baker Vapor. It's a good company with some good juices for very reasonable prices. On down the road you may want to look making your own ejuice. It is very easy to do, once you put a little effort into researching how it is done, and the cost...well lets just say it blows commercial prices out of the water. You can save lots of money with diy juices and sometimes make better juices than what you can purchase. There is a whole section dedicated to diy on this very forum and is full of very knowledgeable folks that can guide you through the whole learning process. Good luck with your journey. I hope this has helped.

I haven't smoke an analog in over 8 years. I stopped smoking in 2004. I picked up vaping because I remember when I used to smoke, I ate less and my appetite was reduced. When I stopped smoking, I replaced it with eating food and junk food along with picking up a very bad caffeine habit. I was drinking a 2L of diet Pepsi a day. I now only drink water with occasionally a 20 oz diet Pepsi or coke. Some may think it crazy to start vaping but I need something in my life and I think it wasn't vaping, I would return back to analogs. And, to be honest, if the price of analogs weren't $10 a pack here, I probably would be back to using analogs.

Also, I'm at the lowest I can get in nic levels for ejuice outside of using no nic levels. I'm using 1.5 nic levels now. And, perhaps someday I may switch to DIY.

I was under the impression that 1.5 nic is 15mg nic which isn't the lowest you can get. 3mg is the lowest I've seen, or 0.3 nic, sold commercially which is well below what you are using. If you haven't smoked in 8yrs though for God sake do not go back to the 'logs. That's the worst thing you could do. If you haven't smoke in 8yrs don't even use nic juices at all is what I would recommend for you to do. Since you have kicked that habit in the first place I would hate for you to get that craving stirred up again. You are doing great without it! Try some 0 nic and see how you do with it and see if your headaches subside. That is my biggest concern with your health are those headaches. If you try 0 nic and your headaches persist I would seek out a physician to see what, if anything is going on. Good luck!

if you vape at 5 watts, 5 ml a day would not be a lot
if you vape at 10 watts, 10 ml a day would not be a lot
if you vape at 20 watts, 20 ml a day would not be a lot
if you vape at 30 watts, 30 ml a day would not be a lot.

1.5mg of nic is the lowest nic level from where I purchase my ejuice from. 3mg of nic gives me a headache and they suggested that I try their 1.5mg of nic. I do not get headaches when I use the 1.5mg of nic if I don't over vape. My problem is that I'm over vaping by taking long drags and using more than 2ml of ejuice each day. So, I've put myself on 2ml max each day and shorten my drags to less than 5 seconds.

Yes, I've increased my watts to 5 at 13.2 volts because I was using like 4.2 watts at about 10 volts. I believe that it was vaporizing all the ejuice which could explain why I have phlegm. I read in another post that someone was getting phlegm when they went less than 5 watts. So I increased the watts to make sure all the ejuice is vaporized. No burnt taste at all at this level and it's the max I can go with the atty I use.

sounds like you have your volts and watts numbers mixed up

Hmmm maybe it's not the nic at all. Maybe it's an allergy to PG or even VG causing to headaches? I hope you get that part figured out. I still recommend 0 nic juice and see if the headaches persist. If they do I would seek out a doctors opinion.

Five second draws on a device like you are using is kind of long imo. I couldn't even imagine taking a ten second draw unless I'm dripping. But hey I like mouth to lung hits. Rarely do I lung hit. Even dripping, 3 to 4 seconds is about all I like to take.

Somewhere out there
if you vape at 5 watts, 5 ml a day would not be a lot
if you vape at 10 watts, 10 ml a day would not be a lot
if you vape at 20 watts, 20 ml a day would not be a lot
if you vape at 30 watts, 30 ml a day would not be a lot.

I vape 10 to 11 watts and 10ml would be way too much for me. I actually consider 5ml too much. I prefer to keep it at 3ml or less, even if it means increasing the nic level at times.

Good luck to the OP on reaching your goal. (But if it's mostly about cost, I really recommend DIY)

Grunch

I found that I was mindlessly and joylessly vaping without savoring the experience. I switched to an RDA so I have to rewet every 8-10 drags. It segments my vaping into sessions, rather than continuous usage like a tank. I rewet the wicks, vape it dry, then put it away. Im enjoying more and vaping less. I am however not an ex smoker (at least not for over 6-7 years) so it's all about the enjoyment for me. I do vape low nic.
