I have been using my Provari that i just got almost a month ago and LOVE IT. Paired up with my russian 91 and its the best. But after getting into rba ive been cloud chasing like crazy. I bought the igo-w rda couple of days ago and have it at 1.1ohm as the provari has its limitation. That sad after researching subohm safety and all that, i want to start dipping into sub ohming with a mech mod. Not crazy subohm like below .5 but somewhere between .6-.8ohm. To achieve that i need to purchase my first mech.

Ive been thinking about picking up a clone mech as spending as much as my provari or even more just for craftmanship is a crazy idea. For a couple of weeks now ive been debating picking up a turtleship mod clone from 101vape as soon as it comes back in stock... but after browsing around I found information on a American made Mech-Mod thats currently on preorder called "The Big nasty" by tatroe.

From cigtech website: The Big Nasty PRE ORDER

The Big Nasty is the first USA 100% Mech mod holding a 26650 battery.
Made By Tatroe Mods in the U.S.A.

Features:
510 Steel Connector Threading
303 Steel Body, Cap and bottom
Copper Contacts on top and bottom
Adjustable top center pin and floating ( 2 PCS )
Recessed Magnetic bottom firing button
Threaded bottom and top delrin insulators
4 vent holes
Height : 3 and 5/8ths inches tall
Unique comfort design on the body
Top cap tappers to a 23mm
Bottom button has a 1/16th throw to activate at 1lbs of pressure.

We recommend using only the MNKE 3.7volt 26650 Battery at 4000Mah. This battery feature 20 amps , 30 amp pulse and a 60amp burst option.
As with any electronic cigarette device please be aware of OHMs, Voltage and AMPS

How to adjust your center post with your device:

Unscrew the top cap for the Big Nasty
Screw on your Atomizer or RBA until it sits flush with the top cap.
Then adjust by screwing or unscrewing the bottom part of the center post to the required length for your battery connection.
Once You have the correct adjustment for the center post your atomizer should sit flush and your cap flush with the body of the big nasty.

1 Year Warranty included ( Warranty covers, threading, button and contacts )

I know how alot of yall dislike rip trippers video but i found his video more informative and more organzied then the other big nasty videos.

For $139.99 for the mech mod itself or $149.99 with the battery i find that price way more reasonable then those $180+ mechs and their "craftmanship" price. Another reason id like a mod with 26650 battery is that I would find replacing batteries constantly annoying.

Thoughts? Should i pick it up or just stick with a clone mech mod with a regular 18650 battery.

The logical conservative point of view would be get a clone (they are cheap after all), then if you like the whole idea and still want one, get the Nasty.

The other perspective is - Tatro quality is very good, and the price is attractive. Although they may discount it at some point, may build V2 & V3 versions with different styling (which Tatro is known for), and surely there will be cheaper clones of it within just weeks - what the hell, it's only money. ;-)

I agree with the "start with a clone and see if you're still interested" idea. That's what I did, and I don't regret the $30 (or so) I spent to see if it was something I could get into.

What kind of charger do you use for those batteries?

Most standard Lion chargers will charge a 26650.
