Plastic Taste w/X2 Clearomizers

Here's the newbie again --

Just tried out my new X2 and X2 Clearomizers. Filled two, one with Ry4 and a little local ry4 blend, the other with a local shop's Kona Cream - which I love btw.

Anyway -- both have a Plastic Taste. Unpleasant and overshadows the juice flavor.

Been doing research and it seems this is necessarily uncommon with clearomizers.

R there any solutions or am I destined to be a carto person?

Is there another option?

Thanks all, in advance, I appreciate all assistance!

It does go away quickly cjgeek - I have two X2 clearos that have been "broken" in so to speak and just opened a new one today and filled it, I notice the taste too initially but it does fade. One I risned out really well with hot water before filling and didn't have that taste at all.

Thanks all... doesn't seem to be going away tho, washed with water and with Vodka :) ... maybe a little better, but not great.

Maybe I'm just particularly sensitive to plastic. But its not pleasant and I've never tasted it with the Nanos.

Nothing on SI site says there's a coating on the C2s, it talks about it on the C3s, so I'm confused, wondering if I have a bad bunch?

I've never noticed a "plastic" taste from my clearos -- maybe it's because I fill them & let them sit overnight? Not sure. Nightfell, you could be right about the o-ring lubricant. Some may be more sensitive to that taste than others.

However, my CE-3's are a different story; the "plastic" taste is promiment and (to me) disgusting. I can't use those at all without cleaning & soaking them first.

TY ALL .. an update ...

It has gone away.. thank goodness!!! It was nasty!

I think washing helped, next one I open I will wash with Vodka very very well :) Maybe I'll let it lay and soak a bit. Before I vape the first time.

I may be particularly sensitive to the plastic, I was concerned I wasn't going to be able to use the c2's -- which didn't make sense because I didn't have a problem with the nanos.

Again -- Thank You ALL who replied, this is such a great resource for information and everyone is so very helpful. I was clueless just knew I didn't want to go back to the analogs!

TY!!!

Have you rinsed the mouthpiece? I'm assuming you did since you said you soaked the rest of the clearo. I had a funny taste that turned out to be lubricant for the O ring on the mouthpiece.

Vaping is about learning new behaviors ex: instead of checking to see if I have my lighter I'm now checking to see if I have my battery.

It's then complicated by the fact if I need something I just can't run to a 7/11 to grab what I need just yet. So I've gotten good with remembering backups and making sure I order enough of what I need. Ecf and more specifically the SI subforum have been a godsend. Just keep asking those questions.
