Wo Wo, got my shipment notice today, right on schedule. Really looking forward to trying out this new clean pure juice made somewhere other than China.

I was wondering the same thing as trashman, what is the shelf life of the new PI juice? Should I store it in the fridge? I don't want it to go bad on me. That is a lot to pay for juice. And I will be savoring it for sure.

I am no good at flavor reviews! From what I understand, it's based on a candy available in the UK. All I can say is, I love it! Okay, wait, it reminds me of purple Sweet Tarts but, without the tart, with undertones of something else I can't put my finger on. Chocolate maybe? Here is a review done by a member of TW's forum. Hope it helps a little bit!

Keep in mind he was using a Titan 510 for the review. I'm using a 901 SD. I think the 901 allows for a bit more of the flavor to come through.

Parma Violets 18mg:

Liquid Colour: Almost completely colourless... Like the 14th urination of a night out on the lager when you have so much volume on board, you are almost removing pure water from your body...

Instant First Impression: It smells like Parma Violets... Not a strong smell, at all, but it definitely smells like them... Again, there really would be no mistaking this for something else... But it’s not overpowering...

Main Flavours once vaping properly: Well, not short of flavour... That’s for sure... I was starting to worry when I smelled the liquid that I was going to end up saying the same things as I have done about all ‘complex’ flavours I've tried so far, which is that they are too subtle for me, but thankfully, that’s not the case here... The difference in taste between inhale and exhale is marked... Like the difference between sucking Parma Violets and crunching them... Inhale is sweet and subtle taste, exhale is a good bit stronger, less sweet and more violet-y... If that makes sense... Oddly, this time there is less sense of flavour if I exhale through my nose, which I can only assume is down to the fact that the ‘scent’ of the liquid is a good deal weaker than the ‘taste’ of it... Although I await being shot down in flames for that piece of ‘unscience’...
smiley.gif
This is a really nice flavour and a damn good approximation of the real thing... Strengthens the more you vape it as you ‘taste’ more of the tones in the flavour... Nice... A thought-provoking liquid which has left me stroking my chin... - 9/10

Throat hit: Medium is fair, I think, but as I always say with these types of flavours, throat hit is not really the point here... Throat hit like a 36mg menthol in a flavour like this would be awful... It does build up on a long draw though, so... - 7/10

Vapour production: Again, not full on... I don’t feel like I’m fogging my office out, but it does give more vapour than I would have expected... Not awful, but not huge... The liquid itself seems, to me, delicate (however ridiculous that may sound), and this seems to translate to the vapour... Which, in fairness, all adds to the mystic... 7/10

Overall: 7.67/10
Again, this is another rating of mine that doesn’t do the flavour any justice, due to my wants and needs from an e-juice being OTT... It is a lovely, excellently put together flavour and, for less of a ‘taste-brutalist’ than me (99% of you), this would likely be perfect... In reality, it loses nothing from not having the clouds of vapour, or from the less brutal throat hit, but I (possibly only temporarily) need those things... Barbarian that I am...

Jason,

Any idea of what the shelf life might be for the Platinum Ice?

thanks

It should keep good for at least a year or two if kept cool, dark and full. I use the fridge for long term storage, and expect the various archived flavours I have there will stay good for years - I have noticed no degradation at all in any of the juices there, but I may have a better idea when I've been vaping 5 or 10 or 20 years.
The main enemies of nicotine are bright light, oxygen and heat, and leaving your juice in a half empty bottle on a blazing hot windowsill is probably the quickest way to ruin it.
Once you open a bottle, you're letting air in, and it will begin to suffer. If you're not planning on finishing the bottle within a few weeks, I'd advise bottling the proportion of it you don't need immediately down into smaller containers that you can fill to the brim, and keep in the fridge.

Treat it like a fine wine, and if you're laying it down for future enjoyment, a cool, dark cellar in a Bordeaux chateau would be the perfect environment to try to replicate (but the fridge is easier :))

[I am looking to buy some 54mg. Do you have any flavoring in a tobacco. What can I mix with this to be the closet to a tobacco. If you don't have any in this flavor what do you recommend would be the closest.

the Habana Reserve is the only tobacco flavour ATM, and it's not yet available in the concentrates (it will be, but it's proving difficult to ensure multi-litre supplies of one of the components,) but there'll be 36mg flavoured Habana Reserve in the next batch (should land stateside ~next Friday/Saturday.)

A bit of a marmite flavour - you'll love it or hate it! Never yet found anyone who's indifferent to it.

If you're a fan of Romeo y Julieta Havana Reserve cigars (the proper ones, not the Don Lino rip-off - lino's for floors, not smoking!) you'll probably like it.
If you think Marlboro 100s are sophisticated, you'll almost certainly hate it ;D

I'm working on a Maduro "Hoya de knackeragwa" for those who like their cigars more nutty then peppery ;)

I love the smell of robusto in the morning!

Just got my package with the Platinum Ice and must say it is everything they say it is. Clean is the word. I mixed up a batch of 24mg and it is too strong. I think I will cut it down to 11mg and see how that is. I vaped it easy and now I am sweating.
Take it easy with this stuff. It's potent to say the least. Well worth the 50 bucks... IMHO. It will easily go far very far.
I have other high nic juices but they seem to taste kinda like chemicals but not this stuff. Not at all.
Very happy with my purchase.

Hello suppliers :D

I see that you guys make your own liquids (as opposed to buying stock from china and mixing), and i have a question:

I have a friend who i would like to get into e-cigs, but she has a bad peanut allergy and can't use a product like this unless she can guarantee against exposure.

Can you guarantee that some of your liquids and flavorings are completely free of peanut residue? If so, which ones to use or avoid?

Thank you :)

Well my second batch I mixed up was 18mg and it still rocks my world. I swear this nicotine must absorb into the system better than the regular stuff I am used to. I vape for a few minutes and have to sit it down for a while cause I am GOOD... Almost too good.

I think the next batch will be at the 6mg level lol...

O and I needed to ad a bit of VG to the mix to get good vapor.

Wow my head is spinning. And beads of sweat are forming on my forehead...

I've had a chat with a couple of my flavour suppliers, and they state that the following flavours from the current range are guaranteed peanut-free:

apple, attar of rose, blackcurrant, cognac, mango, mentholyptus, parma violet, passionfruit, raspberry and tiramisu

I don't use peanuts or peanut derivatives in any of the other current juices, or in the nicotine base that's blended with the flavourings to produce the flavoured juice, but am unable to entirely rule them out in some of the more complex ingredients of flavours not listed above (Habana Reserve might, but I don't imagine black cherry, white chocolate or absinthe would be likely to contain peanuts - but no definitive assurance is yet available for those.)

I would also advise she avoids all cigar-flavoured (and probably all tobacco-flavoured) juices from any sources at all - I detect a distinct undertone of peanut in the majority of them I have tried.

If she has allergy issues, she may also find that VG-based juices would suit her better (anecdotally those with PG allergies usually seem to have other allergies too, so there may be a higher risk of PG intolerance if she has existing allergies.) We'll soon (hopefully) have VG-based PI and flavoured juices onstream.

I will be ordering from you shortly so i have something for her to try ;)

My Platinum Ice Mixing kit has shipped :)

I'm sure you started with the TW recipes and have started to modify them to your taste. If you care to share the drop-by-drop and save me a few steps that would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently at 18mg, same as your last batch.

thanks

Well I use a online calculator for my mixing. You can find it at...

This place....

I really like how easy this little page has made this for me... There is also an excel spreadsheet that I found in the DIY liquid forum on here that helps with other calculations... The one I needed was how to increase the nic strength of a juice you have... Say you have 15ml of 12mg and you want to make it 18 or 24mg...

If you can do algebra here is the equation... (ml1 * mg1)+(ml2 * mg2)/(ml1+ml2)=Strength of the mix... I have been doing a 1 to 6 ratio of 12mg and 54 mg for a 18mg juice. So in a little bottle I put 60 drops of my 12mg and add 10 drops of the 54 to bump it up to 18mg. That's about all I need and it's almost too strong now. I really can't use this juice on my new 6v unit or it will hurt me. lol

I highly recommend this juice to the DIYer,

I'm curious how thoroughly you protect yourself when you work with the 54mg. Gloves? Mask? Anything else? If not, does it get you 'high' by the time you're finished.

I've been holding off ordering, concerned about contaminating myself, my wife or our dogs with juice this strong. Its been near forty years since my last chem class.

....So in a little bottle I put 60 drops of my 12mg and add 10 drops of the 54 to bump it up to 18mg. That's about all I need and it's almost too strong now. I really can't use this juice on my new 6v unit or it will hurt me. lol....

I'm also concerned about the accuracy of counting in drops. Are you using the same dropper or pipette for all liquids and making sure the dropper stays vertical while you're counting? Otherwise, your drops will not be equal. Could that be why mixes seem stronger than the math says they should be?
