My little word of advice......don't rush......just when you think it MIGHT be healed.....keep the activity to a minimum at least another couple of months. SUPER conservative management. I know bone breaks are different than ACL tears, but even with surgery on an ACL, it's a false sense of security and many many MANY dogs go back for another surgery because of a re-tear....same with bone plates as far as the "security" goes.

It will be super hard on all of you to keep the activity down....especially when the lil one starts feeling much better and thinks he's back to being invincible. It will break your heart left and right not to let him do what he desperately wants to do, but we must play the bad guy :( I'm dealing with an ACL tear, no surgery, just conservative management.....I know how heart breaking it is {{{{Huggs}}}}

My Casper had TPLO surgery done on both of his legs and it was about a year rehab after each one. Crate rest was about 3 months before we could do anything but go out for a business. Then it started at 2-3 minute walks a day for a week then 2-5 min walks and so on. It was almost 6 months before he was allowed to do stairs and we had to put a belly band on him to help a little for the first month. He had 2 plates and about 20 screws in one leg and 1 plate and 14 in the other and still had to progress real slowly.

One of my fur kids is 135lbs. So your 35lb still looks little ;)

Little bitty ones have no idea how small they are and most of the really big ones are just big ol' teddy bears.

In my younger years I wanted a Great Pyrenees. The first one I ever saw filled up the whole back of a station wagon with the back seat removed. Beautiful snow white bundle of fur.
