Okay I worked out the math on the bills. With the dependents changing to one, and assuming 20% child support and 20% alimony, I would fall one dollar short of the monthly bills at 40 hours a week. That is taking into account that my gas and electric are going to be at all time highs each month for estimation. So I will make it, and of course find a room mate to pay half, making it easier. Just thought I would pass along some good news.

According to Texas law after 10 years of marriage it can be applied, and the judge could do it whether she asked or not. There are stipulations but one is if the spouse receiving it has a physical/mental issue keeping them from working it would be applied for life. She has issues physically that would prevent her from gainful employment. So I should assume it will take effect.
