Agreed. But that is where my supreme wisdom comes in. I've learned over the years how to balance the discipline with great love and caring. And I tell my daughter daily that I love her. I believe she knows that, and recognizes that I do what I do because I truly care.
She has friends whose parents don't care much, and she sees what effect that has.
She really is a good kid, just had a momentary lapse of good sense. We all do it, including myself.
