Ok... I can't stand it....
If the passthrough you are using has a good battery ( ie holds a charge so you can use it without it being plugged in )... you can certainly use the USB port on the computer... but if it doesn't have a battery or isn't a good battery... It isn't recommended and is likely to damage the computer port by trying to pull more current ( amps ) than the port is made for.
Computer USB ports, if they are following the standard... are only made to provide 500mah of current to the items plugged into them. Some ( not all ) of the newer computers can provide up to 1-1.5a ( 1a = 1000mah ) of current.
So let's cover a couple example settings...
at 4.2v with a 2.5Ω coil... your PV will need to have 1.68a of power.
at 3.7v with a 2.5Ω coil... it needs 1.48a
at 4.2v with a 2.0Ω coil... it needs 2.1a
at 3.7v with a 2.0Ω coil... it needs 1.85a
So... if your passthrough's battery is good... you should be ok using it since the USB port is only charging it and isn't being asked to provide all of the current the PV is needing to vape with.
