Just bought my fisrt kit today. Got me and my girlfriend set up, and both are very happy with our new equipment. But, still kinda confused about some of the equipment and terms. Like what is the difference between a clearomizer and a cartomizer. Any other advice for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

It's just as he said, two different methods to do the same thing 
Some prefer one over the other, and the methods are a bit different.
When i first started I just researched everything online and cartos were pretty much the way to go in the beginning
Then with more research onto more fun hobbies!

The clearomizers are a "sub-group" of cartomizers
Cartomizer - a combination of "cart" and "atomizer"; cartomizers have the atomizer and eliquid holding unit in one piece. Often referred to as a "carto", not to be confused with a "cart".
Cart(ridge)/Atomizer - a two piece combination; the cart holds the eliquid and feeds it to the separate atomizer
(and to make things even more interesting there are clear cartomizers that aren't clearomizers
