Please explain subscribed threads by "control panel" to me

I don't understand how this works or where to find my control panel (I don't see anything marked "control panel" anywhere.) Can someone explain how this works and where to find it?

That is what comes up when you hit the Settings button at the top right of your screen. The forums that you subscribe to will show up there. The threads that you subscribe to will also appear when there are new posts that you haven't yet seen. If you want to see your subscribed threads even through there are no new posts, you can look to the left of your screen and select Subscriptions.

If you subscribe to a lot of threads (especially high traffic threads) control panel subscription notification is the way to go.

Hi everybody! I have a few subscribed forums with option for daily updates by email. So far I don't have e-mails about updates in these forums =( Where is the problem? My junk mailbox is empty.
