Hi all! Just got my first e- cig yesterday. I ordered the pink tornado from Totally Wicked. I am getting inconsistent vapor from it. I'm sure it's user error since everything is brand new and yes it's fully charged. It came with pre filled tabacco flavord carts and I rinsed those out and added flavored juice that I ordered. What am I doing wrong?
Also on another note do you need an adapter to use cartomizers or they just screw in. I have read some posts about this but still don't get it. I an electronically challenged and apparently e-cig challenged. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I direct drip onto the atty, and I find that when I first drip the first few vapes are alittle light on vapor, but then it gets going really good after that.
As for the cartos, the Tornado is a 510, but with the battery being different I don't think regular 510 cartos will work. I do know TW is about to come out with cartos for the Tornado.. but I'm kinda e-cig stupid myself so hopefully someone smarter with more info will come along and help ya out :)

My guess is the cart is not wicking well or you just need to hit it about twice then let it sit for 1-2 minutes to wick...this is part of the learning curve. You can't toke away on them like cigarettes. Time to start trying new filler materials? I've had the best luck with this: Marineland Bonded Filter Pads at PETCO but it is far from perfect.

On a side note, when I got my Tornado, BOTH the atomizers that came with it were defective. Both would heat up, not totally DOA, but one would not wick at all, and both only put out tiny puffs of vapor as if they were just not getting hot enough (too high resistance?) and both had an extremely hard draw as if plugged up.

Hi Erin,

I hope you've sorted your issues? It took me a couple of days to get my Tornado into the full swing of things, but like yourself, I think it was me and not the Tornado!

Just wondering if you like your pink one? Mine is black and I think I'd really like a pink one as well. I'd like a few spare pv's at any rate, so why not pink I say. :)

Welcome, the battery for the Ego and Torando are basically the same,,,,and both use the 510 atty and carts....so if something is wrong,,,either the battery (unlikely) or the atty (more likely),,,go and get you some more attys...Having an Ego for almost three months and my wife with her Joye 510,,,,we have found that the atty is our main problem....that and not re-filling our carts enough...So,,,as in anything else,,,,The more you try different things and read, read, read some more on this forum, the better the vaping experience is...No analogs since Feb 11...For me that is Fantastic....Enjoy...

Try this, take off the cone and cart from your battery and atomizer. Hold the atomizer near your ear and press the battery and listen for the sound it makes if its not a smooth burning sound ... blow gently into the atomizer while holding the button you should see clouds of smoke coming out and keep doing this till you see the atty turning red..gurgling sound means your atomizer is flooded and this will clear most of it out. Add a drop of liquid take a hit and see if its vaping right if not repeat the blowing method. Once you find the hit you want add the cart and enjoy.

I have converted to dripping myself, but when I use a cart I like to put a drop or two in the atty first and then pop the cart on because otherwise you get very little flavor and vapor. The wick in the atty will pull the juice out of the cart but it does it slowly so I personally like pre-dripping the atty first always.

I know your new to e-cigs but trust me once you get past the learning curve and figure out whats works best for you , you will love them. Remember that the Tornado is 3.7 volt device and you will have to learn to take slow longer puff. Trying to hit it like you did a real cig (if you used to smoke) isn't the same.
