As many of you have seen and so wonderfully responded to, I posted a plea for support in the New Members section of this forum: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/203205-help-support-idea.html. After a few hard fought battles with the trolls (I am so proud of you guys!), we have great momentum and I think they have decided we are legit and are leaving us alone. The votes are now up from -110 to +420!

I think it is now time to launch Phase II: Operation Facebook. I know that MSI (My Starbucks Idea) is a great starting place, but as evidenced by the rampant rudeness of the trolls, I do feel that the site is a bit ignored by Starbucks. Until an idea reaches a certain score, it is mostly the lower level and mostly powerless moderators who see the idea. Once the score is high enough, they escalate the idea to higher level corporate heads that have the power to do something with it.

To get more attention, and more votes, the next logical step is to post your thoughts on Facebook. Not only will this attract more votes from other vapers who do not know about this, but the moderators on Facebook will react by sending our posts to their higher ups! When you post your comments, please include this link to MSI: View Idea

I do understand privacy issues, so if you are not comfortable with posting on FB, so don't sweat it. Send them a letter! I really liked the ones posted in the Lowes thread, or even the one the OP wrote on MSI. I will post them in this thread in a bit.

I'm not much of a leader and I'm not a great writer, so I apologize for any disorganization of this campaign. Thank you so much for coming to the rescue like Knights in Shining armor or like the awesome Patriot Riders! Those trolls beat people down on a daily basis on MSI and I was so proud to see so much support from you guys. I swear, it makes me tear up a little bit! Hugs to all of you!

Here is a very good letter to Lowes compliments of Mickey Rat:

Dear Sirs,

I understand that you have banned the use of personal vaporizers (PVs)
otherwise known as e-cigarettes in your stores. I'm here to tell you
that I think this is an unreasonable policy and one that you should
revoke immediately. While some PVs do resemble cigarettes, many do
not. None of them produce smoke. They produce vapor. The only harmful
ingredient in the vapor is nicotine and by itself nicotine at these
doses is roughly equivalent in toxicity to caffeine. The liquid that is
used in these devices is composed of propylene glycol (not to be
confused with ethylene glycol or antifreeze), vegetable glycerin, water,
nicotine and flavoring. I've already covered the nicotine and the rest
of the ingredients are generally regarded as safe. Compare this to the
list of more than 4000 harmful substances in cigarettes.

The vapor produced is almost odorless, dissipates quickly, and is only
produced when the device is actually in use. It produces no lingering
odor. You would not be able to tell whether a person habitually used a
PV by their smell.

These devices have proven to be more effective at getting people off
cigarettes than any other method. If you truly care about your
employees and customers, you would encourage their use as an alternative
to smoking. Instead you have instituted an unreasonable policy that has
no rational basis and in fact will likely do more harm than good. It's
scant encouragement for a smoker to switch to the much safer PV, if you
make it just as inconvenient as smoking.

I have spent thousands of dollars at Lowe's buying appliances, hardware,
paint etc. over the last few years but, I prefer to do business with
companies that have rational policies that are based in fact. Therefore
I will not be doing business with Lowe's while this policy is in place.
I live near enough to your corporate headquarters and if you like, I
would be happy to come there and explain why this device is a lifesaver
and should not be banned in your stores.

Thank You,
