Hello All,

I recently bought a VV reo mod and am having many issues with it. Can my fellow vapors please offer some input

I am experienced vaporer-4 years plus in total. I have previously owned a reo grande and used it for close to 2 years.

I got my reo VV last month and have been having many problems:

1. I am currently using it with 2.0 ohm cartomizer with 32mg of juice. I have had a horrible time juicing it. I have either juiced it too much and flooded the carto or I have not juiced it enough and end up burning the carto and getting little to no vapor. The technique I used on my regular reo grande has been just to depress the bottle until i see a little juice seep through the bottom air holes. And that has worked fine in the past on the regular reo. However, with my VV that technique is not working. when I depress the juice bottle I am either flooding it badly or not pressing it hard enough

Recently someone said to inhale slowly through the drip tip at the top while at the same time depressing in the bottle of juice until hear girgling sound or some resistance. This seemed to help somewhat. However, I still feel like I am lacking on the flavor/taste department. In addition, Is this the technique I just mentioned the technique most of you use on your VV? can anyone add in any finer details? and lastly do I press in the firing button also while I am inhaling through the top and pressing the juice bottle or no?

2. Like I mentioned, flavor as well as the amount of vapor and throat hit has been somewhat of a disappointment on this 200 dollar machine. I currently use a 2.ohm cartomizer and the main problem is the slightest change in the voltage trackwheel will cause me to burn the carto or to have too weak of a device that very little vapor will come out. Will switching to a 3.0 ohm atomizer help (and cranking up the voltage)? Also, I heard rob sells something call reomizer. Will this add to my flavor and vapor production? how has your feedback been from that?

I love rob's devices as they work every single time I have picked them up. there is nothing better in terms of durability which is important to me. I recently owned a feedimus mod where you would have to turn it upside down to juice the carto and the taste and the amount of vapor from it was great - unfortunately it was made like a piece of garbage and broke 5 times on me and I threw it away as I was tired of paying shipping charges to have it fixed.

So basically Im looking for any and all help from my fellow vapors can offer me on my REO VV device in terms of being able to juice it better, to be able to get more vapor, as well as a better overall experience including flavor

thank you so much for reading my post. all and any input is appreciated

flexsr, sorry to hear you're having troubles with your VV Grand. I have a couple of VV Grands and I love them. I have other REOs, too, so I have a basis for comparison. I have never noticed any difference in the juice feeding between the VV and the regular Grand. It's strange that your Grand feeds fine and the VV does not. As far as I know, it's the same connection on both of them. Maybe just an "off" batch of cartos???

I will say that the RM2 (what is listed as the Reomizer 2.0) on the site, is an awesome atomizer that definitely works GREAT on the VV Grands (or on ANY REO, period.) It's a rebuildable atty that you make the coils for,( hence the Kanthal wire and silica wick materials he sells in the same section.) It is easy to build and awesome to vape. And a great thing about it is that there's virtually no flooding it....the liquid that isn't used each squonk is drained back into the bottle.

That suck on the tip while you squonk action --- we call that "blind squonking"......is a good way of juicing a carto. No....while you're pressing the bottle and sucking on the carto, you do not fire it. Once you hear a slight gurgle or feel the pressure change, stop squonking and then fire and vape.

I'm baffled as to why your regular system of squonking on the Grand doesn't work just the same way on the VV Grand. There should be no difference in that function at all.

The variable voltage wheel....I guess it is pretty sensitive....I get mine where I want it and I don't mess with it after that. I hardly ever change my voltage, actually. I have two VV Grands and on one, the wheel is pretty easy to turn; on the other, it's much tighter and harder to turn. But neither of them change accidentally.

I strongly recommend the RM2 rebuildable atty.....it will change your whole vape for the better. It's very, very awesome. I've been vaping for over three years now, and it has been a total game-changer for me.

One more thing....with the VV....you could go up on the ohms (2.5 or so) then up on the voltage....it'll make your batteries last longer. When you were using the Grand, did you always use cartos? I find cartos the LEAST flavorful of all the options. Even if you don't go to a rebuildable atty, a regular atty (to me) is better for flavor than a carto.

Edit: I wish you didn't live halfway across the country....I'd let to try my RM2 with my VV Grand and you'd see what vaping CAN be.

I used cartos for almost 3 years on my Grand before recently getting the RM2. I never used the bottle to bottom feed my cartos due to the lack of consistency and flooding as you have stated. I always top filled mine and they would last about an hour before needing to top fill again. I found it to be a more even fill that I could control and only took about 15 seconds to fill after you take the drip tip off.

Hi. Im a reonaut also and will offer my two cents worth even though a bit different than others. I have two VV grands and one mechanical grand. After discovering a microcoil on a cyclone bottom fed RBA at .08 ohms, i realized the the VV grands would not a fire that low and i am now going to sell the VV grands. The vape I get from a cottom microcoil at .08 ohms on the mechanical reo grand is the best ive ever had ( ived used a Billet Box, Bogger Boxes, DNA 20, genesis style, caravella mod with KFL and many others) so my suggestion is trade the VV grand for a Mechanical grand , watch superx microcoil vids , get you a 28 ga cotton wick microcoil on a mechanical grand and throw those dam cartos in the trash, youll never look back.

Rather than selling you on a RM2 I will try to diagnose your actual situation here ......

Well they feed the very same (both the VV and the grand) so if you were using cartos on your grand before the technique should work identical ...??

As a long time carto user though I will share what I did (before the RBA's killed the carto experience)

I did the blind squonk (squeeze while sucking lightly) You need to do everything lightly with cartos.

Draw air lightly and squeeze the bottle lightly .... As soon as you feel any resistance stop. It would seem that you got no juice in the carto but you did, trust me. I did this often, every 5 hits or so and my carto experience was fantastic on REOs.

Like others said though make sure you tube is not too long or stuck to the side or bottom of the bottle.
I always cut mine at least 1/8 inch shorter than when they arrived and at an angle.

You can also take the carto off and gauge how hard to squeeze to get juice past the connector. Practice this a few times.

Try that and keep us posted, it should work just great.

It took me several cartos learning the proper technique. I honestly felt like a ..... because I can rebuild atty's all day long, but squonking on a carto? Man that felt like a rough learning curve!

Some other carto users here suggested I make several super light presses on the bottle instead of the typical 3-4 second press I was used to.

I took the carto off and mastered how hard to press to get the juice just to the top of the 510 connector without spilling into the drip cup.

Once I mastered that, I put a blank carto on and gave it a few presses. I then puffed on the carto to clear any residual juice from the tube. I did this a few times until the top of the filler looked like I had top-filled it. After that, I just vaped it as normal and when the top of the filler started drying out, I'd give it a few presses, puff to clear the tube and continue vaping.

I'm sure the carto pros may have better advice.

As for the resistance of your cartos, I'd suggest bumping up to 3Ω cartos and crank that wheel to max!

This sounds to me like a possible feed problem or like a restriction maybe?. Try take the atty off and very gently squeeze until you see the hole get juice come up then let it go and see it suck back. Make sure its a free flowing unrestricted feed. If you have to squeeze harder and then juice almost squirts out then theres a restriction.

Thank you all so much for your time and input!. much learned.

1. On the regular reo grande I never inhaled slightly thru the drip tip. I would just push in bottle for few seconds and it would work okay (outside the taste just being weak). But, as someone recently told and me and you guys reinterated here is to inhale slightly and squeeze the bottle lightly, perhaps 3 small squeezes as someone suggested

2. Yes I plan on trying the 3.0hm carto and cranking that VV up some. Hopefully get that vapor output up some and the VV wheel a little less sensitive

3.I plan to try rob's reomizer (reusable atomizer/cartomizer). glad to hear the positive reviews. Are there other companies who make something similar and just as good at perhaps a lesser price (hit by the economy lately)

Thank you all so much for confirming some things I thought, teaching me some new things, telling me what works for them and getting me excited again on my $200 VV !

Indebted to all

couple quick things also if i may. I have never tried one yet, and was so desperate I was going to try a tank with this thing, thinking it will give it great flavor, but that would kind of defeat the point of paying 200 for the VV mod right? I am going to continue to work through the suggestions mentioned on everyone's posts before I stoop to that level.

2 quick things though. I am using two different brands of 18350s batteries for this VV reo .I get quite a bit of leeway/movement within the device with them any suggestions with that, or just deal.

Also, this new special atomizer/cartomizer that rob is selling, I can choose the Voltage on them by how i can configure them?. I will try and do my own research on this as I'm sure it was maybe covered elsewhere and I dont want to waste anyones time

But lastly while I have been vaping a long time I haven't kept up with the newest mods and info for the last couple of years can the author who wrote................ "After discovering a microcoil on a cyclone bottom fed RBA at .08 ohms, i realized the the VV grands would not a fire that low and i am now going to sell the VV grands. Thanks

While the joy is still in the journey of finding the next greatest add on or mod, my finances are at the point where I need to stick with one good one for some time now. Sure wish I could get scrap metal prices for my 25 901s from back in the day, that I dont have the heart to throw out yet.

Your 2.0 cartos should give you what you want, throat hit, vapor and taste on the VV Grand. I run a 2.2-2.4 coil on a RM2 on my VV Grand and my VV Woodvil's.

A cartos that is flooded will not produce much vapor, taste or throat hit. Neither will a cartos that is too dry.

When I used cartos I did NOT pre-fill them. It just took a short and quick squonk while drawing, without firing, to get up just the right amount of juice. You only need juice around your cartos coil. You do NOT need the whole cartos filling to be wet.

You can easily adjust your voltage to give you the heat, throat hit, and vapor that works good for you. You should have lots of different voltage settings available with that 2.0 cartos. In other words you should be able to turn the voltage either up or down to dial in your sweet spot.

The AW IMR 3.7 18350's are the recommended battery for the VV Grand. They should fit and work the best. If you find your batteries move some you can stick a piece of cardboard between them and the bottle to hold them in place.

The RM2 will allow you to make a coil at the ohms you prefer. On a VV Grand you can run from a 1.5 to a 3.0 ohm coil. I find a 2.0-2.4 gives me plenty of room to adjust the voltage up or down to my liking.

Ha...that's funny about the stockpile of 901s. I have my share of outdated supplies, too. Your VV Grand is a good machine; you just need to get it fine tuned to suit your needs. Like nerak said, just shem the batteries with cardboard or something if they tend to move around.

Someone who doesn't keep up with the vape world and the almost daily changes could find it pretty confusing. I'll say that rebuildable atomizers are the latest greatest....and I'm sure they're not a "passing phase"....they're definitely here to stay. They out perform pre-built attys and cartos hands down. The REO is still at the top of the game, and combined with a rebuildable atty, it's at it's best. I'm not saying you can't get a great vape with your cartos....but it doesn't compare to the vape you get out of a rebuildable: Flavor and vapor and throat hit.

The guy talking about the .8 ohm RM2 build on a mechanical REO (Grand): That's the "rage" right now....pretty low ohms on the mechanical REOs......it really DOES give a GREAT vape. But you can get the same great vape on the VV Grand with the RM2 as well. On the VV Grand with the option of higher voltage, you'd just build a coil that was higher ohms and turn up the voltage.

And as bottom-fed rebuildable attys go, the RM2 (Reomizer 2.0) is (IMHO) the best bang for the bucks. There are a few others that work on bottom feeder mods, but not many. And the RM2 is relatively inexpensive and very easy to build and just a great little rebuildable. In the long run, it'll save you money....the wire and wick material costs pennies per coil. It'll pay for itself in no time.

There are all kinds of threads showing you how to build a coil....it's easy, cheap, and FUN. Many of us use cotton (organic cotton balls or a roll of sterile cotton from Walgreens/CVS) for the wicks....so that's very, very cheap. The wire is cheap....Rob sells it on the reosmods site these days, and that's all you need to make a great coil. (Well....a screwdriver....) Anyway, super_X_drifter has several videos out about the RM2 and rolling coils. Give them a glance.

Good luck.

Hi flex. Yes the .08 coil on mechanical grand with a cyclone is the bees knees, the best vape I've ever had. I like a hot vape with a lot of throat hit and chewy clouds of vapor and it gives me that but that may not be your thing. I've heard I can get the same result with higher coils on my vv grands but I haven't been able to, I'm sure it's my mistakes causing that but I've tried for months with the rm2 on my vv grands but I can't get anything close to the satisfaction I get with low coils on mechanical grand. I will keep trying though.there are people here that are experts and will teach you. Super x drifter was kind enough to even make and send me some microcoils to try..incredible guy there. just ask around to some of these reonauts and watch the vids and you will be in vaping paradise soon either way. im still learning myself and i got everything from these folks so i cant tell you much other than when you get there, youll love it. i have genesis styles, a billet box, boggers, and many other devices that i dont even use now. good luck in your quest.QUOTE=flexsr;11047122]couple quick things also if i may.
