I'm crossing all my crossable bits for both of your loved ones. And everyone else trying to quit. I smoked menthol lights and found 18mg to be the perfect starting strength. I've since moved to 12mg. Of course all physiologies are different. I actually purchased sample sizes of 36, 30, 24, 18 and 12. I found anything over 18 gave me a headrush. I kept the 24 with me for about 6 months and actually used it at my weakest moments. It's impossible to even think about stinkies when you're in a nic-coma. :p

All went well with the little in-service. She took notes! Aside from showing her the ins and outs of filling the bottle, squonking, battery replacement, turning the button cover on/off, etc., I purposely flooded both the atty and carto to show her how to correct it should she do the same. I got a report from her earlier -- still going strong. She hasn't had a cig since last night!!!!! And, because she's such a girlie girl, she went for manicure today and matched her polish to the metallic purple 2.1. A little over-the-top...yes. haha. :)

That is wonderful! That first day that you can make it without a cig is a tremendous step!

If purple fingernail polish makes her keep vaping......more power to her!

I know you feel good giving her the set-up to get her away from cigs. You done great!!!

She told me she hasn't craved a cigarette at all. She went about her day -- just substituted the Mini for the stinky. I did remind her to stay hydrated.

REOs are TRULY a life-saver.

Yes they are!

I was a little worried for her. I started at 36mg and after over 2 years still at 32mg.

Just remember that she can go higher nic if it is not doing enough for her. Sounds like it is for now!

I understand. She knows I can make her juice w/higher nic if she feels she needs it. She hasn't expressed any angst -- let's see how it goes.

Please don't forget that there are other substances in smokes that we are addicted to, so after a while, she may start feeling anxious or ill. Not everyone goes through those withdrawals, but I did....and it certainly helps to know what is happening and why.

Excellent point. What did you experience in terms of withdrawal?

Depression, anxiety, body aches, light nausea and what's the word....um....fatigue. It started about 2 weeks after I had stopped smoking completely and only vaped. Lasted only for a few weeks, if I remember correctly. I wasn't sick, no fever or congestion. Just a general weirdness that I know was withdrawal. I had gone through them years before that after weening myself off of another addictive substance.

Edit* There wasn't anything I could do to relieve the symptoms...just had to roll with it. Took me a few days to recognize what was happening....but I figured it out after addressing what I had been eating, drinking and if I had been getting enough sleep. By then I knew the only thing that had really changed was my habit....smoking to vaping. We checked the health section here on ECF and found others who were going through the same thing.

Wow...2 weeks AFTER you quit? I've never heard of such a thing. I assumed if one was going to suffer withdrawals (physical and mental), they'd start right away. That's what happened me EACH TIME I attempted to quit cigs prior to discovering MODS.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I will certainly pass on your experiences to sis...just in case.

She's still vaping away -- no cravings for stinkys!
