Hi guys!

I'm still a fairly new vaper, just started this October and never look back once at those nasty cancer sticks since!

Recently just got myself some sigelei 100w mod with a plume veil, jumping into the rda world.
But I had the guy at the store built me the coils.

Now that I want to begin trying to build my own.
I did some research and seems like 28 gauge is a popular choice for many.
But how wide is the diameter do I wrap around with though?
I heard drill bits. But which one would that be in particular?
A lot of the time people tell you the wire gauge, how many wraps, what kind of wraps, but didn't mention the diameter.

Does it matter at all? Is there a specific size people go with? Thanks!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum cchen1031. Glad to have you here!:)

28 gauge is very popular. Get yourself an ohm reader, it makes a good building base.

Right now I have a centered build at .3 ohms. Its a fairly straightforward process, just requires practice. I'd recommend picking up a set of micro screwdrivers - they work well for wrapping coils and tightening leads. For higher builds I use the 2.4mm screwdriver, and 24 gauge kanthal. I like to get a little more cloud/flavor so I use 24 gauge. Definitely check out youtube videos etc. . . Or have the people at your local b&m show you how to get it done.

Using a 100w device you can do a ton of better builds to take advantage of the extra power. Think thicker wire, macro coil. More surface area is a good thing.

I would start somewhere in this formula.

22g single coil, 7 wraps on 9/64 mandrel. That should give you 0.6 ohms. I would run it up at about 70w. That 100w can really do alot.
