Hey ya'll, here's my situation:

Love my genesis style rba's. Have a DID clone and an AGA -- they are all i use when at home.

Problem is, I don't take them out because I worry about top caps coming off and leaks etc. The carto tanks I use are leak proof and i get throw my provari in my coat pocket and never have to worry about whether its sideways, upside down, jiggling around, whatever.

Vape is way more satisfying on the gennys tho, and I want to spend the $ on an authentic DID but I can't yet justify it if I'm not going to take it out of the house everyday.

Anyone found an RBA (authentic or clone) that has worked for them out and about? If I could find one that I could toss in my pocket or bag just like a carto tank I would be in heaaaaaven.

Thanks!

I vape genesis systems exclusively, but to date, I haven't found a "leak-proof" system. You can minimize the risk of leaks by using a fat, solid wick and keeping the fill-hole screws in.

The next atty I'm going to test out is going to be one of the Electra-Pipes models, the LV 3 or the new 4 ml NV. These have an inverted, bottom-coil genesis layout that isn't found on any other devices, and they're apparently very hard to dial in...but the concept shows promise as a leak-proof system. The Silver Dog also attempted to solve the leaking issue, but actually made it worse in the process...unfortunately.

Im thinking about buying the short DID for out and about use...i mainly use solid wicks so maybe this will prevent leaking....the DUD i have has a threaded top cap -- this is not the case for the DID is it? How tight is the top cap on the mmvapors gennys 2GLR and Rule62? Either of you want to sell me on how much more awesome the authentics are than the clones? I love the way the clone vapes...how could it be any better?

Yup, the DID top cap is threaded and the air hole lines up perfectly with the wick. My wicks are solid, but even with that, laying it down on its side will eventually cause a leak. I just tried it with a half filled tank. It took just under 10 minutes before I had drops of juice fall on the table. My fill hole screw is not in so I'm sure that leaking would be less with it plugged, but that will also compromise wicking.

Last time I checked, MMVapors was out of the clear tanks. I ended ordering some borosilicate glass tanks from IBTanked, and those fit perfectly.

All of the MM vapors top caps are threaded and the holes line up. Also the wick hole is significantly larger than the knockoffs. The knockoffs are poorly made with bad threads and cheap thin mystery metal. I would not leave the fill screw in if I was using a solid wick, but the vent hole on the Temon is small enough to minimize leakage.

The bliSS has a threaded top cap but still leaks pretty bad in my pocket as do all the Gennies I have had. I have tried plugging the fill holes with rolled SS mecsh but they always seem to leak anyway. The best pocketable atty I have found and love is the Penelope, not a Gennie but to me it vapes as good or better and never leaks in my pocket. The bliSS is the only Gennie I have kept but I leave it at home.

Yep. The Bliss has 5 holes, 2 of which have ground screws, to allow for various wick configurations. I leave the fill hole open, and plugged the other one with a piece of a wooden matchstick.

With a solid wick and the fill screw out, I have yet to have a Cobra RBA leak. You can even turn the thing upside down and it will resist quite well. As for the top cap, it's on there pretty good. You would have to be hard on your equipment to get the cap to come off on its own.

Although I have never bagged one of these like a carto tank setup, I do just stick it in my pocket or pockets (when I carry more than one) without issue and take it out all the time.

Even with the wick out and two holes exposed, you have to shake it hard to break the surface tension to get water to pour out -- quick tank rinse out. Although once that tension is compromised, it will spill it's guts.

Here's some pics I just took to demonstrate.

Oh and that's #500 mesh if that makes any difference. Didn't use #400 long, but don't recall it leaking, although I think it did drip on that test when I used a wick with a small hole in the center.

I'd love to own one of every RBA, but since that's not in my immediate future, very happy with the Cobra thus far. Just my thoughts, YMMV. :toast:
