I keep getting a lot of voltage drops. Even with a new spring and sanded contacts. I've heard polishing the contacts can help. What kind of polish should I be using?

You definitely don't want to be sanding down your contacts regularly, especially if they're plated metals. All of my mods are brass or brass plated, so I use a tiny bit of weisman brass polish once in a while and it works great.
I like to use a Cratex Rod to Polish/De-Tarnish Electrical Contacts and Center Posts.
Don't use a Power Tool, just do it by Hand. A couple of Strokes and your Contact should be Nice and Shiny. Then I put a Very Thin film of Nolox on them.
If you have a Drill Press, you can do some Very Cool stuff like this with Cratex.
