so ive got a brass nemesis. when i first got it it had a beautiful mirror like shine for about ten minutes until i touched it. i want to polish my mod however i am broke and lack the proper materials to polish it. i was wondering what could be done. ive herd a mixture of flour vinegar and salt will work nicely if you scrub it with a toothbrush. ive also herd of using ketchup. what could i do to restore it to a perfect shne? i used toothpaste and that worked nicely but its still incredibly dull. i also sprayed the thread with wd40 however i feel like that tarnished it all over again. what should i do thanks ecf!

Where you least expect it....
Your welcome, you can use some noalox or vaseline to lube the threads. I'm unsure of the affects that wd - 40 has on a battery to be perfectly honest. However, I would recommend that you do not use the battery if the casing has been damaged in any way.

take it to a jeweler, it would take about 3 minutes to buff out. Or put your hands on some jeweler's rouge. Use the rouge like a paste wax with a soft cotton cloth and a whole lot of elbow grease.

Rouge is available on ebay listed under jeweler's tools. Some hardware stores may carry it also.

There are also some very fine auto polishes that will do the same. Be sure to use a very light polish, something that will not hurt a clear coat finish.

The DIY route is probably better, polished brass will re-tarnish in days.

I polished my brass mod with glass stove top cleaner already. Non-abrasive and it worked pretty good, I couldn't find my jewelers rouge. And for the threads... just wipe them clean once in a while. If you use anything, I would recommend a small application of dialectic grease (very small, like a drop).

Another option that available in super markets, Brasso.

I worked way to hard & long to get that nice soft patina to be polishing it off! Took a lot of vaping to get them to look like that.
