Polishing Brass

I am trying to polish up my Brass Atom. I bought some Brasso, took it completely apart, got it all shined up, but still couldn't get that mirror finish on it. I then rubbed it with a dab of olive oil to try to seal it. Just a mere one day later and this thing is already dull. Is there anything I can do to get this thing to a high gloss shine?

The stainless steel part of this shined up pretty good though!

You can see on the left side part of this brass tube, I did have it somewhat shiny, it just is crazy this dulled in just a mere few hours!

Shine as normal, (Brasso, Never Dull, Mothers Metal Polish, whatever). Then spray on "jewlers lacquer", a clear metal coating. Keep it off threaded portions of the tube to maintain conductivity.

Pretty durable stuff, but will chip if it gets dinged.

Leave out the olive oil, Brasso has a finish protector in it.

If you send the brass parts to me and pay shipping both ways Ill run it through my ammo casing tumbler. I promise thing will look like a damn mirror!

Thanks but a friend of mine had a jar of IOSSO lying around in his garage so I snagged it. Worked pretty good.

If you want to keep it shiny, there is a gun cleaning product* called EEZOX you can try. Its by FAR the best metel preserver/anti corrosion product I have used. It smells like death, and its expensive, but it works

(*I like guns, anybody pick up on that yet? )
