Another rave review Pontus by EHPro Review | Vape Scores

From the first day I saw pictures and technical info about the Pontus I felt it could be poised to be a Russian/kayfun style RBA killer. Do I feel the same now that I have it in my hands? Abso-freaking-lutely! It has slightly better capacity than a standard Kayfun, and performance to put he old guard to shame. Simply put- It’s an RDA with whatever build you want to run at whatever power you want to run, with a tank that does not leak and wets your wicks at your command. It is also a bonus having both the Tobh & Pontus now, that I can literally go from dripping to driving with a dripper or vice-versa, as quickly as changing the top cap out on my atty. It also gives me the ability to swap flavors rapidly come time to refill the tank, simply by swapping which deck I have under the Pontus.
RIP: Kayfun and variants, you had a great run and served us well, but your time has most definitely come to an end!

Ok I switched to 60% VG (the lowest I have) and it still works great for me, no leaking and it looks like 2 presses are enough to soak my wicks (with 90% I needed 3).

Dying to get one of these! Quick question that I have yet to see an answer for. Is there something physical that blocks the tiny feed hole or is the liquid held simply by vacuum?

Personally I fill it like clearomizer, placing upside down and unscrewing the Pyrex tube from the bottom piece.
BTW, I think that the gurgling issue is because the liquid drip hole is really close to the chamber tube.
Ahhh, that would totally make sense. I wonder if you wait a little before taking another rip... is it avoidable? Not a big deal at all but still.

I wonder what gauge blunt needle would fit in there and act as a little straw.... you could jame it in there and have it end up closer to the coils possibly?

Mine was just delivered i'll have to check her out after work today.

Well, just got it built up with a simple 26 gauge dual coil at 0.47 ohm and wicked with JOC.... I have 50/50 PG/VG "Turning Trixxx" in there now side by side an identical build on my Tobh with the same juice and they're very similar.... I'm actually liking the Pontus more! The smaller atomizer chamber and long draw tube through the tank really condenses the vapor in a similar fashion to a Kayfun. The vape is cooler because of the long tube but much more dense and flavorful to my taste. Awesome stuff!

Build quality is honestly great. On par (if not better) that my Infinite clone RDAs. This could pass as a $100 original atty if you just stuck a Paradigm logo on it.

You drippers looking for a RTA for the car or out and about.... This is it!

Great review. I don't even like dripping at home when I'm on the couch watching TV or a movie. I don't mind losing a bit of heat. When subohming with dual coils, the vape will still be warm enough for me. Mine shipped today and I can't wait to get it.

What part of PA are you from? I grew up in the burbs outside North East Philly.

Thanks man! I might try and put up a pic/video review as soon as I have time... It's really such an awesome little dripper. I'm noticing a slightly different flavor compared to my identical Tobh build because of the condensed cooler vape. Just as much flavor.... But u get different notes and aspects of it. Only part I'm trying to get used to is how often to drip and how many pushes equals how many normal drops.

Small world! I'm in the north philly burbs. Grew up here as well... Montgomeryville area.

Is this thing an RDTA or an RTDA? I have a feeling this kind of RBA is going to take the vaping world by storm.

I'd go for RDTA lol. I agree! I think the big money and innovation would be in a universal tank dripper... Basically the Pontus system with different lower atomizer cap sizes that will slip over RDA decks that we already own. Sell a system with a few sized caps that will allow us to grab out fav RDA, take the top cap off and head out the door with a tank on top to drip n' go.

I'm really pleased with all the info in this thread! Thanks for reporting back!

I was planning on a Big Buddha as my next tank, but I think this Pontus has moved its way up the list. While I love my kayfun style tanks, I still miss the huge performance of a dripper sometimes, and this device seems like it will hit the spot for sure!

How secure is the tank on the base? Any worries of it falling off in a pocket?

Hopefully we can get some sort of drop kit eventually, or maybe even a more compact model all together. I like the idea posted earlier about having sleeves to fit different RDAs. All you'd really need to do is make the dripper chamber portion of the tank a threaded-on part which you could swap out to match different RDA bases. There seems to be a ton of potential with this design and I'm hoping this is just the start of an entire new category of attys!

So I can't comment on leaks yet as i haven't had it in pocket but vaping it all night and screwing around with the drip tank i really cant see it leaking. What i plan on doing is to keep the tabs on the Pontus deck and use them for completely closing off the air holes in the side to ensure that no left over juice in the well seeps out in my pocket.

The top cap/tank fits nicely with the o-rings... not tight... not loose... but pretty damn perfectly. The only way i see it coming off in your pocket is if you bump something really hard or it gets snagged in your super, crazy skinny jeans as you pull it out from the cap :p But seriously... i can hold it by the top cap with my CRAZY heavy LE Copper Cartel mod and shake it around and it stays put. I think you guys are going to be as surprised in the quality as i was!
