Wasn't sure where to put this but wanted to see other members thoughts were.
So, without mentioning names, I went into a new(ish) vape shop in my area. Checked out some of the equipment/juices and overall it seemed like they were off to a pretty good start, even been vaping on their juice now. Well I was there I had a chance to talk with the owner for a while. During our conversation he asked where I had been going for supplies. I told him it was a shop on the other side of town (larger chain vendor) and his response was "oh yeah, I've been barred from going in there because they found out I opened a shop." Not totally absurd I guess but considering they are 10 miles apart it does seem a little silly.
Fast forward a few days and I stopped in at said larger shop. After chatting with the counter jockey for a while I mentioned the shop on the other side of town and you would have thought I just ...... on the floor. He proceeded to tell me about how said shop didn't know how to mix juice, sold cheap s**t, ripped off customers and knew nothing about the equipment.
I was really kind of dumbfounded and wasn't sure how to reply. Most equipment was exactly the same (no knock-offs or anything) and I actually found the small shop to be a little cheaper and much more knowledgable.
Now I can understand competition but all of that seems a little over the top to me. The trash talk could put this guy out of business or turn others off to vaping all together. The big shop is closer to my house but I almost feel obligated to go with the guy I know is trying to be civil and make a living.
What are the thoughts of you other vaper's out there. Would you still frequent a place with employee's acting that way?
