I've been vaping on my 901 for about 3 weeks now. the first week or so i was amazed how big the throat hit was. i mean WOW this is like the real thing. but after 3 weeks of vaping, i find myself using higher and higher nicotine products, an i'm now using 2.4% just to get the same hit i got when i first started vaping (at 0.8%). i am currently on my 3rd vaporizer, as i am replacing them each week.

i realize that its my throat and lungs adjusting to the e-cig, but i've been smoking for 15 years and they never adjusted, the hit was there every time?
what i am looking for, is a juice rotation or something that keeps giving me that throat hit i love so much or i'm affraid i might fall back to analog's again :(

After I went to 6 volts and a 801 atomizer I am lowering the nicotine level.

Some people using higher voltage batteries are reporting that they are getting a throat hit even with 0 nicotine liquid. I've ordered the 5 volts Prodigy to try this - if true, this would be spectacularly good news.

But as someone else already mentioned, you may just need to put on a new atomizer and see if you get a throat hit using the same battery.

If you have to move up from 18mg to 24mg to 36mg to maintain throat hit, I am guessing it is time to replace your atomizer. At $9 a piece for a week of use is certainly cheaper than $40-$50 a week for analogs. But, an atomizer should last at least two to four weeks. Your failure rate appears to be high. Are you a heavy vaper?
ive had mine for a month and it still works great i love dse 901s

sorry for the late reply. (internet problems)
I am using a usb passthrough, so power shouldnt be an issue. What is the prodigy that everyone is talking about?

could it be that i am just using a poor brand of e-liquid?

Chinese made pass throughs have cut-offs just like the batteries and the switches get gummed up just like the batteries. A manual switch pass through or PV, such as the Prodigy or Screwdriver is significantly better than the cheaply made Chinese pass throughs:

The Big Five in Long Battery Life Manual Switch PV’s:

Screwdriver: ecigscrewdriver.com
The Black Screwdriver Kit / Totally Wicked eLiquid / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop
Prodigy: PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!
GG: THE GG
JantyStick: Janty USA
LV/ZiMoshi: http://www.zimoshi.com/

Your atomizer could be going bad, also.

then you are back to the atomizer.

Prodigy can be seen here: link
Does a liquid switch coincide with performance dropoff?

no not really, i have been replacing batteries and atomizers very frequently. i am now on my 3rd battery and my 4th atomizer, nothing seems to help.

also my usb passthrough quit on me last night after only 2 weeks of use.:-x

i might give the prodigy a try, as soon as it becomes available in the uk. i live in denmark and its very expensive in taxes and mail to order directly from the USA.
65£ seems very expensive. i hope it last a little longer than the rest of my equipment. It seems like the most of the parts for the 901 is pretty low standard, breaking, and wearing down very fast.
