So over the course of the past 2 weeks I have managed to pop about 5 attys on my woodvil. :( Not fun.
Each time this has happened it has been while changing juices. I'll unscrew my atty, remove battery, remove bottle and replace with another, replace battery and then atty and try and vape and I get nothing. I remove said atty and measure it on my multimeter and I get a 1 on the display (no connection).

My question to the masters is why would I pop an atty from just screwing it on and off my reo? The button is not activated while unscrewing the atty and I'm using a Red AW IMR 18650 battery.

oh dear. that is weird. so did you meter them before you put them on the REO? What brand of atty are you using? Normally, if the center post of either the atomizer or the connector are off kilter to a point where the post comes into contact with the threaded body...a short would occur and that would affect the mod. I take it that your spring is still intact and not discolored in any way. It could be that the batch of atties you have might have abnormally thin wires....we've had bad batches through our house before.

Yeah I've metered them all around 2.3-2.5 they were all smoktech attys from madvapes. The spring looks normal from what I can tell

I have a new order coming in as I'm down to my last 2 :( I hope it was just a bad batch but got concerned when I popped another one today

Just to be on the safe side....why don't you PM Rob and see what he says. Might be something I'm not familiar enough with. :)
While I'm guessing its just a bad batch...and I hope it is...it sucks. I hope your next batch works better for you. Do you have any other types of atties or cartos you can throw on there to see how they do?

So I really think it was a bad batch of attys.

I had my most current atty on my reo for the past 5 days. I did not remove my atty at all during those 5 days. Today just after leaving home I had a semi dry hit so I did a squonk and tried to get some vapour and nothing, another dead atty :(

Either I'm not keeping them wet enough or they were just a little poor quality.

My first two LR 306 attys did not last long, maybe a few hours on one and a couple days on the other. What happened was when I would get a semi-dry hit I would quickly squonk. Then nothing. What I did was to basically squirt juice on a hot coil and popped it. I learned to soak them. They keep a lot of juice going to get a great vape. If I do get that dry hit I wait a little before I squonk and vape again. I can now use them for weeks at least.

Thanks for the offer Rob, I'm going to wait and see if my new attys make a difference. Down to my last new atty right now, my order of new ones should be any day.

I think you might be on to something nerak. The atty I popped yesterday was most likely due to the cold weather/hot atty/cool juice combination.
I left home (nice and warm), went to the car. Left my Reo there while I ran into the drug store and coffee shop (gone maybe 10 minuets). Once I returned and had a couple of pulls and got that dry hit, then squonked and that's when it popped.

Oh this is going to make for an interesting winter.... any suggestions from the experienced users here?
