Popping hot liquid in my mouth?

Why am I getting hot liquid popping into my mouth using a Boge carto on a Riva 510? I blow it out after filling and topping off.

Can you look through the carto and see no fluid in the center tubing?

I can. I make sure I can see through it before I use it.

That usually happens to me when I've flooded the carto. Even after blowing it out. Take the corner of a paper towel and dab it down on top of the filler to absorb a bit more liquid out. That usually does the trick.

Hmm never seen that before for the liquid to be hot. However sounds like you putting a little too much liquid in your carto!

I use a drip tip with my boge cartos instead of just the little end piece. Eliminates that problem for me.
