I found these when I was at Home Depot the other day. The size is a little bigger than the 186500 3.6 volt batteries, but this outputs at 4.0 volts, and the mAh is well over 3000 from what I recall. It says it can take over 2000 charges too.

The battery was about $14 , and the charger was about $11.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember all the specs off the top of my head. When I saw it, I knew it would be a good battery, but I really want something smaller. It is just a bit larger than a magnum flashlight mod. dedmonwakin - I think that may be a typo. I don't know of any battery that small that would require a 36 hour charge. My guess is either 36 minutes (pretty low) or 3 hours. Most of the batteries I have for tools take about an hour or 90 minutes to charge. Next time I am a Home Depot, I will snap a few pics, or buy one.

It does have potential. But honestly, your better off going with a 18650 2600mAh PCB battery for a fraction of the cost for that. The 18650 is 2.5 inches in height .5 inches in width. and 1000 recharge cycles 4.2v peak and 3.7 working (aprox 6 bucks)

According to the data, it's only 1500 mAh and as far as I can tell, unprotected by itself. So a mod may need to have protection incorporated.

Yeah, I don't think it's 36hours to charge, but I do notice that they sell a rapid charger for it seperately from the standard which charges it in 36 minutes stated on the manufactuer website.

Standard charger states, 5 hours.

...The 18650 is 2.5 inches in height .5 inches in width...

The 18650's are 18mm in diameter...so closer to 3/4 than 1/2 inch in diameter.

The standard naming convention for cylindrical LI-Ions is XXYY0. XX is the diameter, YY is the length. Both dimensions are given in millimeters.

So a 18650 is 18mm in diameter, and 65mm long and a 14500 is 14mm in diameter and 50mm long.

The actual battery dimensions do vary though.

I apologize, you are correct. It is 3/4" in diameter. And a non PCB is 6.5 or 6.6cm or 65/66mm long, add .2 or .3 cm (depending on internal PCB if cap ending)

When I look at the DealExtreme website, I see

TrustFire Protected 18650 Lithium Battery (2500mAh 2-Pack Blue)
and
UltraFire Protected 18650 3.7V 2400mAh Lithium Batteries (2-Pack Grey)

They seem to hold the same punch, what kind I should choose according to you guys.. before I order like 20 of em for mods :D

-----------------------
I just discovered a red one and a green one with 100mAh more.. what do you guys recommand ? and thank you for your time!
